Need a NET Programmer with FIX API experience

Hi All,

I would like to know if anybody can help me in programming in NET language an EA.
I already have an EA working on MT4.
I just opened a Fix Api account and want to let the EA running on that account as well, but will need to "translate" the existing one into NET.

Anybody out there for this mission ?

I'd rather use a FIX capable trading platform to code an EA. There are a large number of trade management circumstances (order reject, partial fill, reconnect with order state check, etc) which already handled in such platforms and you'd better not to find out from scratch by yourself. Eg. FXCM's FIX is supported in Sierra Chart.

Do you plan to trade forex on that FIX connection or gonna try your algo on futures markets (where FIX is often used)? In the second case you need to test it for some time because of the fills would not be so "easy" compared to the forex, imo.

My two cents. I'm an IT guy.. though lacking time to commit onto your project.

We want to trade Forex on the Fix Api account.
The point is that the EA was originally coded for MT4 (then not working on FIX).

We would like to may have the help of anybody (must not be for free) for "translating" that EA into .NET for working on our Fix Api account.

Must not be the complete "recode": having a person already expert in MT4 coding, what we would need could be just a kind of "advice" on some crucial steps.

Have you heard of the LMAX Exchange? @ lmax.com
You can trade partial lots (compared to futures markets) with fair prices, open book and market depth on this exchange. They support FIX API right from the exchange. You can use eg. Sierra Chart to connect LMAX via FIX API.

Some time ago I took a look into a FIX protocol spec and there are lot of messages for market data and depth, order processing, account info, etc. I did no FIX programming but as far as I saw it is quite low level for your goal. So if you have no specific reason to code right for the FIX messages then consider using a platform (eg. SC).
You will thank that it manages all the low level issues (eg. reconnects, order OCO and fills, etc). Believe me, these "simple" things are communicated in multiple FIX messages and need a decent message and order tracking in the program. And don't forget the extensive sim and live testing before you can rely on such a new code!

I use Sierra Chart but have no other relation to them. It is a very fast platform and you can program for it in C language. Moreover, I think the indicator and trading logic is quite similar to the MT4 code. You might wanna check this post and the link in it: http://www.sierrachart.com/supportbo...ad.php?t=26856

Unfortunately, I cannot help you with low-level FIX programming. If you conclude to continue with Sierra Chart I can take a look at your EA to discuss further and see if I can do anything useful for you.

Just stating the obvious, but have you tried elance or any of the other freelance sites? I know that elance has several Forex programmers that specialize in EA's, Robot's, etc so it's definitely worth a shot!

have you been able to find a solution yet?
I have the same issue!
I was running an EA on MT4 with FXCM and had issues opening up MT4 last week.
As it finally opened, the EA had openend 116 trades on its own.
25% loss in the account.
I tried to reason with FXCM, but to no avail. I usually only take 1 trade during the London session and 1 trade during New York.
My EA has "buttons" on a pair's chart and I can hit buy/sell/close - somehow as the platform started with issues, the EA must have received "imprints" of these buttons and gone crazy.
Ususally the EA only calculates my position size to be 1% of my account and then trails the stop loss based on ATR until I am stopped out.
Quite simple and quite successful if and when you catch a good breakout trade.
So someone suggested LMAX to me as well.
Now I am looking for a programmer who can switch my MT4 EA into FIX API.

If you have any suggestions I am thankful for your feedback.

You can use MultiCharts with LMAX. It is a programmable platform and porting MQL should be a minor issue and a lot less work compared to a FIX app.
LMAX also offers Java and dotNET API, so again, porting should be a minor issue and a lot less so than FIX.

Another possibility is the MT4 to FIX API, but costs $$.
