Why the rich could not become richer?

I have always been wondering why the rich could not become richer. Take Warren Buffett for example. Since he is making more than 20% annually, technically he could double his money in every 3 years. However, this does not happen. If he has 10 billion, it takes him only a little longer than 10 years for him to make 100 billion. But why didn't this happen?

Because they spend it all on women and cocaine.

Not All High Net Worth individuals are GREEDY B******S. There are many that enjoy the rewards Philanthropy brings.

Most of them are psychotic but they channel their energy into making money rather than murder.

Is it because of the liquidity problem where they could not get their orders filled? Maybe this is the problem.

Maybe before posting some bullcrap, just take 5 minutes go to berkshire hathaway website and read the 4th page of the annual report. He made exactly 19.7% compounded per year from 1965 to 2013. However, in the last 4 years he only made and average of 12.55%.

So nowhere was ever stated that he makes more than 20% annually. Secondly, if you ever watch any news at all, you would know that he is giving away a lot of money. If he didn't do that, then he would still grow his wealth by the same percentage as berkshire hathaway.

And my last point: if you grow money at a 20% return, you would need 4 years, not 3 years to double your money.

Obviously the really rich still grow their assets, the rate at which they do it just depends on what they wanna do with the money. And obviously making money in itself without a deeper purpose is pretty shallow. At least buffett belongs to the not so shallow types of ultra-rich.

Two of the wealthiest people in the world, Warren Buffet & Bill Gates, are also two of the best people in the world. Do a little research on what they're doing with their wealth before grouping them with other greedy wealthy people.

Also, not all money is in liquid assets. A huge portion of it may be tied up in real estate and, well, real estate. They also may sit on certain things like gold and diamonds, etc, as they are considered safe bets just in case.

Merely from observation, and no facts, I would say Bill Gates could exponentially grow his account because he sells a consumable product. He does give away a lot of money though.

Warren Buffet on the other hand is a buy and hold trader. So unless his stocks are making profit, and he decides to sell them, his account is stagnant.

The only reason Warren Buffet & Bill Gates don't continue to increase their net worth is because they give so much away.
