To all coders here: can anyone tell me what this indicator is?

I have an indicator that I received from someone else. I really like it. It has been successful, averaging 118 pips per week for the last 4 months (demo tested) with a SL between 15 pips - 25 pips per pair (size of SL depends on the currency pair). It is a single line that moves with the candles. When a candle closes above the line (or below the line) then I enter. However, the problem is that there is a bug in the indicator that causes the line to intermittently 'break' - to the point that there are gaps in the line. I contacted the person of whom I acquired the indicator from, but he says he isn't a programmer and he had acquired the indicator from someone else, and he then said he lost the email address of the other person and therefore doesn't know how to contact the other person.

My question to all the coders & programmers here is this:

If I send you the indicator, will you be able to examine it and tell me specifically what it is? (Is it a moving average? stotastic? MACD? or something else?). And if you can identify what it is, then can you fix the bug in it?

EDIT - 10/2/2014 - Okay, I now have the mq4 file. I emailed the guy and asked specifically if he had the mq4 source file. He said he did and he sent it to me. If anyone can fix the bug in it, I would be very grateful. This is something I've been wanting to get fixed for a long time now. I've had the indicator long before I originally started this thread. If you think you can fix the bug, please send me a PM with your email address and I will send you the indicator ... along with info related to it. Once the bug is fixed, I will have someone make my EA over again to reflect the changes and I will send you a copy of this EA and it's successful system.

Assuming that you are talking about the MT4 platform,
if you have the mq4 file, then yes, it can be done.
If you only have the ex4 file, then no.

Yes, I am talking about the MT4 platform and yes it's an ex4 file. I admit I know absolutely nothing about coding or programming, but is there some specific reason why it can be done with a mq4 file but not an ex4 file? Does a ex4 file have a secret code known only to the person that built it?

The mq4 file is written in a language that can be understood by humans.
The mq4 file is then compiled into an exe file that can be understood by the computer program. Most of us humans are unable to read an exe file

An mt4/mt5 indicator is automated code which do not have ability or permission to execute a trade , its work is to give statistical technical or fundamental or random signals to aid trading.

The indicator your trying to analyze might do any of the above described activities.
