DislikedPrice action after major news can be a very complex mess of spikes up then down two, three or more times or no movement for a while then wham! ect...
These moves are dependent upon not only the news (good or bad) but the price relative to major technical levels. If you want to trade the news it's best to become very intimate with all aspects of the market first. Quite often price will move opposite the expected direction after news, but then move in the expected direction. Very tricky!Ignored
DislikedSo far I have never noticed the price move to the opposite direction after the news release. What I have seen until now is the price will go crazy 1-2 seconds before the news release but once the news comes out the price moves to the correct direction. And, have in mind that the news comes out, for example, at 8:30:01 or 8:30:06, very rarely they come out at 8:30:00.Ignored
DislikedSometimes revisions to previous numbers can spike the price in the opposite direction of the recent news reports. NFP is famous for that.Ignored

I wonder how someone like damien who's been a member since 2006 and has 10 posts to his credit could have missed.... well, you get the point.
Bottom line: News time is wild and the gravy train gets messy quite often.Ignored
DislikedI think my english are very bad and I cannot explain clearly what I mean.
What I am saying is this, lets say that CPI deviates X% from the expected, if that X is "big" enough is it possible to see a move to the opposite direction? Let me know if that ever happened, please.
Please correct me if I am wrong, it is still my 11th post.Ignored
