Hi

the Support and Resistance (Barry) indicator re-paints the last three bars. Specifically, when a support or resistance level is drawn, this level first appears on the open of the 3rd dot on that level. It then paints this candle with a blue/red dot, and paints the 2 previous candles at the same time.

I would like to edit this indicator so that it includes an AUDIO ALERT, when a new support/resistance level first appears (on the open of the 3rd blue or red dot/candle). I only want the alert to sound once, at the exact same time as the 3rd (support or resistance) dot appears.

If anyone can help, i am very grateful.

this is most likely do to the indicator using the fractals, if you watch how fractals draws, it is based on the high or low, if a new high or low is formed on the next candle it will just move it over to that candle.

It is possible to make the indicator ignore the last few candles in an attempt to get it to stop moving the lines.

I would just have it stop scanning at bar 2 or 3. That will give the fractal time to settle out before drawing the line.

Should the alert go when a new line is formed?

found some information on how ifractals is calculated...

I have looked for a barry indicator with alert everywhere. Any progress on that alert when a new fractal paints?

Hi all,

here is the Support and Resistance (Barry) indicator with the added alerts. I have added a few more features as well. The core logic for the alert routine is taken from hanover.

Here is a short explanation of what the new variables do:

ShowChartAlerts
When this is set to true, it will enable the audio with text alerts as well as the email alerts.

AlertEmailSubject
This sends out an email with this as the subject. If you want to use this feature, you have to setup your email first. First login your MetaTrader terminal, then go to "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Email" Tab. Leave it blank if you don't want to use this feature.

BarCount
I have added a barcount limit so that it will not plot this indicator to every single bar in history and eat every pc memory you have. Your terminal will run more smoothly this way. Increasing the BarCount will allow the indicator to plot further into history.

SignalAtBlueDot
This represents at which blue dot will a support alert be sent out. Default value is set at 3, this means it will send an alert when the 3rd blue dot is detected. If you set it at 5, it means that it will send out an alert when the 5th blue dot is detected. This feature is requested by the first poster.

SignalAtRedDot
This represents at which red dot will a resistance alert be sent out. Default value is set at 3.

ShowDotsOnScreen
When this is set to true, it will send a screen message to the top-left hand corner of your chart. Informing you of the current no. of blue and red dots.

Nobody can help you because you posted the ex4-file. It cannot be modified.
You need to post the source code.

There are better s/r indicators than Barry's like dynamic sr which does not use fractals or recalculate..

Barry's uses fractals which will recalculate... it's not a bug.

Anyone can help to add a MT4 push notification on Barry Support and resistance indicator once a new Support or Resistance dot is form? I found mail notification was slow.
