What are scripts?

So... I spend a lot of time learning about Forex (whenever my busy life style allowed me ) and one day I said... Good job Aleksandar, good job... And as i was looking through some EAs, proud and jolly I noticed an icon saying SCRIPS... WTF is that, I asked myself.. I tried applying it to the chart, it looked like an EA except that it does not do anything... I pressed allow live trading and everything, but I still don't get it

Thanks a lot, but I actually found this info in the MT4 platform help section.. and it's still not clear to me.. the thing that bothers me most is that i tried applying it to the chart but it does not do anything, so I can not figure it out from looking at the chart.... :/

Which script did you attach to your chart, upload it pls. so others can check if it works ...

I'm a newbie, and I'm just trying out every option on the MT4.. I only have the default scripts on my MT4 (I'm not really into EA, robots, autotrading or whatever is called YET) so there are pipes and DLL (under examples) and period converter... Maybe I just don't get it... but should they do ANYthing when applied to a chart !? ​
