hi mr alien, today i traded long on the h4 for gbp/usd, it seems like a good setup for ds trade. then i look into the m1 tf for an expansion adx. i then enter trade at 14.57 london session. within 15 minutes the trade already went against me then later about -90 pips. may i know was it a wrong call because on the h4 all adx still green except for 144. regards, vavavoom {image}
The entry would be at the DS cross over.
The adx was compressed and then expanded.
the green 21 sto turned long was an early clue also.
getting in late might be a no no like your case, it is better to sit on your hands if you miss it and save your gun powered for the next trade.

It's getting interesting the situation in EU. In H4 100 and 21 Stocks are toguether,same value, and 8 Stock has started to point down..

mr. alien if the h4 with the adx all green still would you hold on to the trade even though the trade is against you?

I think NJ is heading the same way but is probably going to take a bit longer to get to the same stage as CJ. D1 and H4 are in, H1 nearly in.

On the H4, wait for the DS cross (green over red), that is your confirmation. You might miss a few pips, but you will have less drawdown and the trade will have a much higher probability.

If you do just that one thing AND make sure the next higher timeframe is in agreement, you will be amazed at your success.

Do you mean wait for the STOCH cross on H4 and look for D1 to stay long (stochs, ADX, RSI up)? or Wait for the cross on H4 and look for D1 to cross at the top?

EDIT
Would you advise using the DS cross on H4 instead of the various STOCHs on the lower timeframes as the entry signal? Before your advise I would have entered as soon as the fast STOCH went north on M15.

The DS cross in the bottom box has a much higher probability of slingshot back to RSIOMA after green crosses the red, the just be sure daily RSIOMA is up and 21 and 100 stoch are above 50, above 80 even better.

So we have a confimation DS on the H4. Daily looks to be going long but RSIOMA is not above 50. Adx is compressing. Nice little pennant forming on the H1 and RSIOMA is pinned above 80. Is this a valid setup.

sto8(the black) is pointing down on H4 and there is no power on ADX144
so wait until the sto8 turn up again and ADX144 turn ON then go to LTF for perfect entry

I would take that trade, with a smaller position than normal, as it is not grade A in my opinion. However, the 21 stoch is above 50 on the daily and all stochs are pointing up on the daily

Yes, i would do that too.
What worries me on that setup is the divergence in 21 sto and 100 sto also,could be a last push before go back down.

I would have to see the TF's below and higher to tell you, but for the most part if you have full on ADX your direction, you should be good.........

I would say lower if the ADX was powering up, but with the election looming , things are pretty quite. and undecided......
