Converting eSignal (efs) to an MT4 - Rangebars?

Morning!

A technical question. Can an efs we wrote for eSignal be converted to an MT4 study? My guess is the simple answer is yes, however, on eSignal part of the study uses live range bars and I heard somewhere that the basic MT4 doesnt 'do' live range bars. Word is that MT5 does but most users are on MT4.

Ideas please?

Hey HP,

You can use range bars on MT4 but they aren't provided as standard. There are plenty of scripts available here on FF to create range bars.

That's a shame that MT4 can't provide RB or Renko as standard ... while most of other platforms have them.

I heard that MT doesnt do live rangebars, which I admit I don't fully understand (I do rangebars, not why MT doesnt do them).
So what needs to be done to have a chart set in MT4 with selectable range-bars? Is it a big thing or relatively straighforward to achieve?

The RB script must be applied on a standard chart (ie. M1) ... it then creates the RB datas. Then you open the RB chart which is an offline chart updated by the script on the standard live chart.

That's the way all MT4 RB/Renko traders do.

So I can't just input 10R into the 'size' field as in eS and it cranks out a live chart? Ugh...
Can it be done on MT5?

Yes you can set any size in the RB script. It will create the chart with the right candle size.

I don't know about MT5. It has no interest in my opinion.
