Attaching Moving Average to MACD

Greetings,

Can anyone tell me how to attach a moving average to the standard MACD indicator? Whenever I try to attach a moving average it goes only on the price window, I want to attach it to the MACD.

Dreamliner, Benssol is correct.

Press Ctrl-N to open the Navigator, then open the "Indicators" tree.

Drag the MA indicator into the MACD window, and then set the Apply To parameter as shown in Benssol's image.

Great,that worked, thanks guys. One other question, does anyone know how to remove some custom indicators from the drop down menu? Apparently I have too many, as some of the bottom ones are greyed out.

Dreamliner, try this. I'm only guessing, but I think it might work.

1. In the Navigator, right click on the indicator and click on Delete to remove it. (Note that this removes both of the relevant .mq4 and .ex4 files from the folder
c:\program files\<MT4 supplier name>\experts\indicators
so you might want to use Windows file manager to copy these files to an archive folder first).

Alternatively, using Windows file manager to delete or move the .mq4 and .ex4 files from the same folder should achieve the same thing.

2. Then exit and restart MT4. This causes MT4 to refresh its indicator lists, and recompile any new/changed indicators that reside in the folder.

This process will definitely remove the indicators from both the Navigator and drop-down menu. Hopefully it will also cause the grayed out indicators to be reinstated.

Hanover, there is no option "delete" when I right click on the indicator in the navigator window. I have deleted them through windows file manager, restarted the MT4 and still cannot get to the bottom indicators because they are greyed out. Any suggestions?

It seems that MT4's in-built indicators can't be deleted (which makes sense), but right-clicking any custom indicator in the Navigator allows the "Delete" option..... well, at least it does for me.

What happens if you try the following?

1. Exit MT4

2. Create an "archive" folder, and move all files from the ...\experts\indicator folder into the archive folder. At the end of the process, check that there are no files remaining in the ...\experts\indicator folder.

3. Run MT4. There should now be no Custom Indicators in either the Navigator, or the dropdown. I have just tried this, and I get this result.

4. Exit MT4, then copy the custom indicators that you want to keep from the archive folder back into the ...\experts\indicator folder.

5. Run MT4. All of the indicators that you copied should be reinstated in both the Navigator and the dropdown. Once again, I get this result.

I didn't have any grayed out items to begin with, so I can't test this properly.

Does it solve your problem?
Have the grayed out items disappeared back at step 3?
