How can I change chart colors?

Hi,

I was wondering if there's an option in MT4 to change permamently the colors of all the charts I'll open from that moment - I'm currently using black background color, and bright green and white colors ... I saw people using red/green and white background templates... AND IT LOOKS MUCH BETTER! Any idea how to do that? Plus I'd like to know the exact preferences of that color template.

Right click on your chart and select Properties (F8).
Choose 'Colors' and away you go. A few experiments will get you what you want.
It still doesn't apply on other charts... So I need to do that manually

you will need to close your old charts, after you have changed the colors on 1.. the next new chart you open will have the same colors (whatever u changed to)

you need to do it manually for each, or you can save one as a template(right click--template- save template). then right click each chart, and apply the template

I know ask line color is the same as grid color but if i dont want to use grid, so is there any workaround, maybe an indicator that can draw ask line on different color?

Press f8, go to common tab, uncheck "Show Grid".

i just threw this together, but i can't see how it could have any bugs. note that this works on backtested charts also (i.e. in strategy tester), but as the actual market spread fluctuates it affects this indicator so if using in backtesting you will see the ask line not match-up with the constant backtested ask value... can't be bothered making a workaround for this since you probably won't use it for that anyway.

open metaeditor. create a new indicator. delete EVERYTHING that the template creates. paste the following code into the blank area instead then compile it... attach to your chart, and enjoy.
