Hey peeps. I have a regular full time 40 hr/week job and thanks to the wonder of tax season, an additional 10 hr (soon to be more) a week job on top of that for the next few months.

Sadly I can't see myself having a lot of time to trade in front of my computer and was wondering if there was any substitute for real desktop screen time. I was thinking about a smartphone (new treo?) or a dell axim. Just to not lose face time and trade wirelessly a bit here and there.

GFT (my broker) claims to have a really good wireless platform (but then again what broker would admit their wireless platform sucks).

Good idea? Bad idea??

Hmm... remember that mobile device will enable you to monitor the market but with limited options.
Make sure you choose a device which will enable you to not only view price tickers but charts as well.
Metatrader is an excellent platform and is available in mobile version which runs great on a PDA.
Choose a broker who offers this platform & choose a device with a windows family operating system.
Also make sure that device that you choose is compatible with your cellular service provider.
You can start with looking at these if you haven't already click me or click me
Good luck,

It might let you monitor the market but I doubt that you would be very successful with such a piecemeal approach. I would have thought that if you can't spend much time monitoring the market then it might be worth taking a break from it for a while - I am pretty sure it will still be here when you get back to it.

Have you asked yourself why you want to watch the market during your other jobs? Is it to get a sense of price action, or to trade, or something else?
