Do you trade more than 1 million dollars in forex?

Do you invest more than 1 million dollar in forex ? or do you know anyone invest big amount in the forex ?

i want to know how many people trade with big amounts and do they trade with regular brokers ?

Do you mean 1 million "deposit" to trade the forex market? or investing (buying) 1 Million in currency?.

I know many, including myself that "invest" (buy) a lot more then that in a monthly base. Some Short term, some longer
terms.

In the other hand I don't know that many that assign that of amount in deposit exclusive for forex, not even big hedge funds.
Also, not very efficient to have large deposits. In practice, the more money you have for a deposit, the less Credit (leverage)
you get from Banks.


What you consider a "regular" Broker?

The "volume" of 1M still considered retail. And most that trade these figures seek first fund security then stuff like spreads or worry
about non-sense things. Everything matters, but not all are that important. Banks are usually the best choices.

i mean fund [ deposit ] the account with 1 million dollar in cash not trading volume , for example you invest 1M and you can trade 50M .

No I do not know any "individual" to fund/assign that much exclusively for the forex market.
Most I know with that kind of deposit, work several other instrument as well.

Just because you don't know anyone does not mean no one trades over this amount. I trade with more than this amount and I have several friends who do too.

True for me also, i have just less than 100k in my acc,

My Uncle trades several Million but in seperate accounts. All spread betting though.

Sure, you are right Genie. Does not means no one has 1M or more in deposit to "exclusively" trade forex.
I just don't know anyone. All the people I know operate other markets as well. And also, all of them operate
spreading the capital around a bit like inpatient mentions in his post.

If you think about it, it quite dangerous to Park 1M in just 1 service provider due to the fact that if a major crisis,
natural disaster, war or things or that type happens and the Brokers or Bank goes belly up, the maximum that is guarantee
By compensation funds around the world is 100 000, and for forex that is provided only by the Swiss.

I think any well-known brokers as hotforex, fxpro has trader could have MILLION account. They would be super VIP client for any brokers, so broker would take most care to their account and their trading. Since even they win or lose, it affect a lot of broker's capital.

jeuro, yes that's true and that why I am more cautious. Personally I split my funds between several broker accounts. Of course, that's not 100% safety due to many things but I feel much safer.

you mean your uncle trading volume is several Million or he invest several Million cash between several accounts ?

I know a trader managing 2 PAMM accounts, total invested money arround 2 million dollar, 1,4 million on 1 and 600K on the other.
Unfortunately he made some huge losses, lost some investors and now his balance for both accounts is 800K.
2 accounts with the same broker.

i want to get experience how big players invest their money ..i want to know also do they invest big amounts with the forex brokers
i have managed an account with 500000$ half million dollar for a Canadian investor .his account was with Interactive broker Canada and insured .unfortunately interactive broker did not accept me to keep on managing the account from out side Canada and threat the investor that they will drop the insurance and guarantee of money and i could not let my life over here so the man withdraw-ed his money . he have 43 million dollar in wealth from a company sold to Microsoft .there are a lot of investors that invest big money in forex .

but i traded small amounts maximum was 25 minilot so 25000 units in size in size ideal trading without leverage interactive broker have the most worse platform i ever used in my life .

Well, tell your client to put the money in a Canadian Bank that would issue a letter of credit and trade
with Dukascopy Bank in Switzerland. They offer that service called "custodian Banks". Money never leave your own Bank
( unless you loss it of course). No problems with withdraws.

I met a guy in Dubai that had several 2 mio deposits at a large broker...
A million USD may look like much, I work with a group of traders who manage
accounts of >15 million USD.
It is very possible.

Wouldnt the basic concepts still apply regardless of account size

set % risk/money management + weekly pip target+ whatever system/method you use to achieve your weekly goal?
Things change quickly.. Never give my money one broker as you say 1mln $. Eveything is possibilitly..
