Quest for Reliable Inexpensive Charting Package that works with Any Broker

Hi.

Anyone know of a reliable and inexpensive non-java charting package that works with any broker? I want to avoid java based charts. Reliability is the key as I have been burned by many charts that gave me old useless information. I am willing to pay a one-time fee but want to avoid any subscription-based charts. It must have more than 3 Fib lines (extensions would be nice also). Is it worth using a charting package that doesn't have your broker's feed? Anybody use Medved's quotetracker?

Thanks in advance!

Just go with Metatrader... and I have a good EA for it.

Good Luck

Thanks for the reply. I really did give Metatrader a try. At the time, I found the programming part of it a bit beyond me and they didn't have a feed to match my broker. I may need to change brokers first.

I use MT4 for charting and trade w/ Oanda as my borker. The feeds for the MT4 demo may be off a PIP or 2 at times but this does not affect my trading.
It is an item of convenience, not necessity to use the same chart software that your borker provides.

In trading, there is no bullshit. You either make money or you don't.

You could use AmiBroker and set the DDE feed from your borker to the AmiBroker feed. The programming in AmiBroker is similar to Visual Basic and is very easy to learn. You can get a trial version of it and see if it will work for you... You cannot autotrade with AmiBroker unless your broker is set up for it.
