how long till spreads are normal?

Hi guys

I heard trading the news like Non farm payrolls are bad ideas...because spread are too huge

just a question as to how long till the broker return spread to usual after a marjo econ news like non farm payrolls are realased... thanks

The borker I use usually returns spreads to normal within a minute or two, not sure about others (I use Oanda, btw).

I use them too...do u know if u u buy beforehand, then the spread wont affect u right?

No they're a bad idea to trade because IMHO there's no consistently profitable aproach to money in this. No matter what thousands of newstraders make themselves believe.

You read Trader888s post on this, too, no?

To be honest, I haven't really noticed, as I learned a few months ago (the hard way) to avoid trading during the news releases. I really recommend you take SL's advice and read Trader888's posts, they are an eye-opener for practically anyone who hasn't yet read them. For myself, I just trade the longer TFs for the most part now, and (thankfully) don't have to concern myself with actual releases anymore- thanks to price action and long-term fundamentals, they just don't seem to mean as much anymore.
