Why does it make sense? The 1 second 30 pip spike down looks terrifying to me...

Why is it crazy this pair should continue to move upward into the end of next week. The earliest you will see real selling pressure is Sunday & based on the outcome of the elections we may not see to much. The markets are trading very lightly and pairs tend to float upwards. We also still have the fiscal cliff looming till that out of the way I wouldn't expect any major down moves as well.

Forex Flash: LDP well positioned to gain 2/3 majority; USD/JPY at 85.00 by year-end - NAB

FXstreet.com (Barcelona) - Asian investors will get the release of the quarterly Tankan survey this morning, which according to NAB strategists, "is expected to offer a pretext for further BoJ easing actions at next week’s BoJ meeting (Wed/Thu)." The bank suspects the BoJ will add between Y5 and 10tn to its asset purchase programme next week.

All the focus, however, remains on Sunday’s Japanese election result. As NAB notes, "the latest polls suggest that the LDP could, with the support of New Komeiti, its natural coalition ally, gain enough seats to give it a two-thirds majority in the Diet (lower house), and this would then enable it to override the upper house in pushing through legislation (something that could be critical for the appointment of a new BoJ governor and the two new deputies next March and April)."

NAB continues to keep its ambitious call of Y85 on USD/JPY before year-end.

LDP to win up to 300 seats according to poll

Reports from the Japanese press have the LDP + New Komeito parties winning a big majority on Dec. 16, with as many as 300 seats.

  1. Poll shows LDP likely to get a majority in its own right (241 seats)
  2. Winning a ‘super majority’ of 320 seats would allow passing of bills that have been voted down by the upper house

Trailing it wide a wide stop I started buying over 2 weeks ago and have added in on weakness & taken pieces of on strength so I'm very far ahead of this trade I'm monitoring everydays close and adjust the stop accordingly. If it makes to 2007 high before my stop is hit that's wonderful if not I'm way ahead of the trade so it's all gravy at this point. Swap is very nice on this on as well.

Tankan Survey: FT article (spoiler alert – Japan business

http://www.forexlive.com/blog/2012/1...lear-meltdown/

confidence worse than after earthquake/tsunami/nuclear meltdown)

By Eamonn Sheridan || December 14, 2012 at 02:54 GMT
From the FT:
Japanese business confidence slumps
The survey, carried out over the 30 days leading up to December 13, shows that spirits have sunk further than in June last year, after Japan experienced the triple disasters of an earthquake, tsunami and a nuclear meltdown….Analysts said the latest Tankan survey – which the central bank considers when formulating monetary policy – will increase expectations of further loosening next Thursday, after the BoJ’s board meeting.

Doing the same thing again. With yesterday's trade I made +100 pips.

In the H1 chart Stoch is oversold. Price tocuhed 4/8 MML and Keltner channel lower band.

Long @ 134.47. If it turns out to be a good trade, I'll let it run with a generous TS and pay attention to 134.75 and yestarday's high levels.
