Lets say you're on the verge of a breakthrough of understanding how all markets move, who do you take this information to to get help?

I've found nobody cares if you found the HG, unless you also make money from it.
So pay heavily, share for free help, or do it yourself.

Well Blackstar, I think you should start a new thread in the Trading Systems section, present your ideas and take on suggestions and development for a full system.

What could be the Holy Grail in Trading system?. The obvious answer is one that makes money. But we have to be specific and that indicates clarity and that is the key to achieve the HG!

Well if you have this understanding then you must have created a system on some level. The real question is what specifically do you feel your current system is lacking that would take you to the next level?

My system is lacking someone with intelligence. Since I haven't found anyone whos noticed what I have I've had to do all the work myself and being a 20 year old high school drop out has made it more difficult.

A breakthrough for you personally, or is it that you can't find anything relating to it anywhere so you think it's something which no one else has discovered?

Both kind of, I made this discovery on my own, but it made me see that the way markets move is anything but random and that the charts we see are constructed using a very specific algorithm that had to be programmed into a computer. So there definately are people who know this.

It's not that I think it will be jinxed I just have a feeling I wasn't supposed to find this information in the first place.

Paranoid and impossible: The market is a pure competition.
Algorithms are scary, though, and I too would like to know algorithms' true role and potential in the market. A rogue algorithm....

These are the methods I see used on the market today*:
1,2 Breaking up randomness into a few basic patterns that fit together with rules, and then have lots of named and/or described examples of each of the patterns. There are two sides to this way, 1) price action and 2) indicators .
3 Data (likely) shows that natural time breaks (news,sessions) and concordance of the majors create more obvious patterns.
4 Include order flow as can: Careful interpretation of ticks, volume-candle matching, time and sales, etc.
5 Algorithms' affect on the markets. (Unknown.)

A meaningful study of how algorithms affect the market would be nice, one that, rather than the usual 'oh, we just trade between the spread', is inclusive of big chart shocks they've created early on and may some today.
