Why not code your own?
I'm almost ready to re-launch my research site. I've made some significant changes to the way the site will function as a pure EA and Trade Logic research forum (something that simply does not exist online today).
My approach was initially to work with an MQL coder, but that process was wrought time consuming difficulties that ranged from the technical to the personal and it really hurt my development efforts. So, I began looking at ways in which I could get some MQL development work accomplished, while moving some of my projects along the path of autonomy and independence.
I was not able to learn MQL overnight, but I found that I could use several of the Visual IDEs in existence for building expert advisors on my own - without full-time reliance on another MQL developer. It took some time for me to sort out the details on which development platform to use, but I finally settled on two (2) of them. I don't sell anything to anyone, at any time - so I won't give the names explicitly inside this thread.
However, if you have the ability to use Excel, even to a small degree, then you probably have more than what it takes to build your EA, on your own and at your own pace. My site will be for research and learning - no commercialism is allowed. And, part of what I'll be doing on the site, is showing people some of the things that I have learned about Visual EA Development and the Bot design process itself.
I've put together a "rough cut" video vaguely showing some of the work I do on a daily basis in researching, designing and building my Bots. You can watch it on YouTube here:
I was never a big fan of EAs when I first encountered them several years ago. I was, and still am, a full-time manual intra-day trader. My current production system only generates one (1) signal ever 24 hours. But, I wanted to know what some of my indicators could do, if they had access to the lower time frame data and that's what triggered my interest in EA development.
The site name is located in the video's Information area, under the "show more" tab on YouTube. You can also see the same in my signature line. After I finish building my initial front line of Bots, I'll re-open the research & development site for educational purposes only.
Building Bots is a lot of fun, but you really do need to understand some fundamentals of automated trading, in order to do it correctly. You also need to know for yourself, exactly what your Bot is supposed to be doing at any given time. You also need to understand every aspect of the trade logic that your Bot evaluates when making buy and sell decisions on your behalf.
Bots, are very seductive but you have to be the wiser and you become that, by developing a practical approach to building an automated trading Bot. I can't build your bot for you (please don't ask), but the site will be there to offer you helpful information on trading Fx in general, and developing trading systems in specific.
When the site comes back online, drop by and simply say Hello World!
