Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The slogan 'press on' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
--Calvin Coolidge (1872 - 1933)

Power Embibing comment.

However;
A fool following such advice is destined to ruin.

Self Reality check:
"Am I a Fool OR should I be Persistent?"
Only the individual can answer question

I defend the idea that everybody can be profitable in forex -or any capital market-.

I also defend the idea that all the stuff that can be read in books about forex is very close to useless. Why? Because thinking that somebody will become a successful trader ONLY by reading tons of books is just wrong. It is like thinking that if Michael Jordan writes a book about "how" to play basketball like him, you could actually play like him. Maybe one can have an "approach" to basketball through Michael Jordan's eyes but that never will make you play like him. That is the difference among "ordinary" NBA player and really "geniouses" NBA players.

All here at Forex Factory will become NBA forex players, if we practice and practice, and eventually become profitable. But there will be "geniouses" that are natural-talented -like Michael Jordan- but in forex... and they will need very very very less time than the average to reach much much much better result.

I don't think any certification in capital markets is valid until they were backgrounded with account statements showing profits along time... besides that I just think they are fancy stuff. Is like thinking that if you have a very sophisticated title on technical analysis you are automatically a good trader. The most part of "certified" technical analysts don't make a single trade. Why? Because that certification is MEANINGLESS when trying to be profitable. It requires to develop a natural skill that cannot be read or explained in books. I call it FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE. Everybody can develop it -some will take days others years- but UNTIL you develop it you will become profitable. Another example of this is that though you can take the same painting classes and to learn the very same materials and techniques, why is there always a "better" one than us? That is natural skill that cannot be tought or explained. It is a knownledge that can only be learnt.

Another proff that certifications is meaningless when we are talking about MAKING money is that a very huge percentage of rich people have unfinished studies... sometimes they didn't even go to college... you would be surprised if you knew...

Hi!
I am last year law student from Slovenia. I think even considering degree will help you in forex is fatal. You must help yourself, your plan and and strategy must help you. And what is the most important thing.....there are no grades...here in forex everything is measured in equity.

education is important when searching for good job not for trading forex.
It is same thing if I say I can play soccer and I am really fast so I ll be a good trader.....

..just my opinion...

I have a bachelor's degree in business management, and I don't think that has helped me too much. Of course I could pick up the lingo and basic macro economics straight away because I'd already studied it, but I believe I would be at exactly the same level I am now without a bachelor's degree.
No matter what background you have, people can do pretty much everything as long as you are willing to put in the hard work.
