It is better idea to lean from other people's mistakes because these mistakes lead us for big loss. If we do mistakes means we have to bear loss but if learn from other's mistakes means learning without any loss.

Personally, I am not an experienced trader too. I just read several books. These books I read on the site Profiforex, they are mini-books. The one I like most is Traders’ Psychology. In this book, author described common mistakes traders made and the basic principle to help you avoid these mistakes. This book helped me a lot. Maybe it also helps you.

I started this thread for the sole purpose of having traders like ourselves share our sources of knowledge, I think that it will be helpful for people who are new to trading. As there are hundreds of potential books that one can read about trading and it's not realistically possible to read all of them I feel that if people share books and other resources that helped them then we can use the same resources and reduce the time and learning curve, I am currently working on a list compiled from the internet from other traders like ourselves and will write as soon as its complete,

A library card will serve you well. There are lots of books I have read. Some good others bad. Each with a teaching point. Just remember why would someone teach you a profitable system.

Some books that have helped me
Mastering the Trade
Al Brooks' books on Price Action are good
Rocket Science for traders is good
Chaos in the Financial markets is good as well. I'm a fan of chaos.

Borrow as many as you can from your library. Don't buy, most are really expensive and few are worth it. Even the bad books will teach you something about the markets that you may not know. I've read so many over the years it is almsot hard to set them apart. Each author has a different background and you can take away some of their experiences.

I would suggest learning about Profit Factor. Lots of stuff written on the internet about it. Learn the formula.

I would also suggest reading an article called "The Way We See" published in the atlantic monthly. It talks about artwork but the message is simple and applies to everything.

I would also suggest you learn or read about ways to controll emotions. Our emotions can be great assets but can be our greatest weakness.

Joseph Murphy is good if you are depressed.

I would also suggest you spend some time thinking about why you are doing this. Is this a new job or some extra money, part time stuff.
