I'm trying to backtest an EA but the history has a MASSIVE gap from 13th Jan 2012 till 24th Feb. I've downloaded several MT4 demos from different brokers and they're all giving this massive gap.
I'd appreciate if anyone could point me in a direction of a service where I can download full (1 minute) history data in GMT time zone with no gaps, so I can run offline tests on a vanilla MT4 installation. I don't need tick data, just M1 and I'm willing to pay. I've come to the conclusion that thee history center is worse than useless for any serious trader.
edit: I have a strong suspicion that brokers put these massive gaps in the history to intentionally cause EA's to "get confused" and either fail, or not trade.
edit 2: I've noticed this before in the past, and usually after a few weeks when I attempt to download full history, the big gap is magically gone.
