Howdy Baddison,

Sorry no I don't other than the charts that I posted a page back. Since this was my 1st time doing this and getting used to the Skypecast functions I think it went pretty good.
Hopefully we can have more input from others next time.

Howdy all,

That is a great question which method is the most profitable????
Well which 1 is I'm waiting I hope I don't step on some toes but if U own Vp and U are using a broker that supplies charts from their feeds get a pencil and paper and get cracking. I have the #s U are looking for BUT no matter what I post and U start using you will B the 1st to post that this method is useless when the 1st say 4 trades are losses and they will happen. Even if U have 80% wins U are still going to have 20% losses nobody has the Holy Grail. Thats why U need to do the hours and hours of painstaking hand cramping back testing with paper and pencil to build the confidence that this IS a good method and to stick with it through the drawdowns.

Also even before anybody worries about a method U need to make sure U have your head around a money managment method because without 1 U will not be here tomorrow. Take that from a guy that blew out 2 very large accounts :surprised and it was not because of not having the best system.

I am posting a website that has a money managment caculator that was given to me by Cyclone that will keep you from lying to yourself. We all have at 1 time or another.

This not directed to any1 in particular but a little advice from some1 that has payed his tuition to the school of hard knocks

I too had the same problem as Keivan. I'm not sure of the issue. I was able to pop into other skypecasts and hear them talking. I'm sorry I missed this.

bill ,
you mentioned in a previous post you would be back testing on the neural index alone.,
on the results you had back tested up to - it was showing more pips over 100 than the 4 out of 5 method OR the MA cross method
do you know if this is still the case,

very very interesting if it is ( as henry gibson said to a lesser extent)

Barney,
If U don't mind me asking U do U own Vantage Point? The answer is yes it does have more winners over 100pips but also increase in the amount of losers.

Still working on the rest could use a little help tho.

yes have had vp 2 months.

I do not know if it will work yet but i am looking at using the 4 out of 5 method with the part time wealth building sytem,

upon the the above vp method occuring ( 4 out of 5)
at 00.00 gmt i would place a trade on a volatile pair - gb/ jp
3 lots tp 50 - 100 - 150 ,
stop and reverse of 50 points,
but the reverse trade would only be 1 lot (because it is against vp predictions),
take profit 50 pips and wait for the trend to return,
or the vp 4 out of 5 to change,

this is very early in development and i need people to look at the wealth building sytem thread and the vp 4 out of 5 and/ or MA crossover to see what they think , i think it has great potential ,
i have not done any back testing because im still not sure on the numbers but cant see why it should not produce great profits.

Hey WilliamK,

I just have 1 quick question: with your 4 out of 5 VP trading method, how many trades per month (or per week) would you say it yields on average? Thanks in advance for the info and continued trading success...

Howdy OC22,

I have been doing quite a bit of testing since getting 7.0. The 4 out of 5 method still works well but not as good as I got on version 6.4. When I say not as good I mean it is getting 60-68%, fantastic as that is, compared to getting 70% on the older version. Plus I am using my brokers Candles with the Open High Low & Close as opposed to using the values on VP to backtest. I have explored, tested and am using a couple of other methods that are getting me better results.
Answering your question about 1 trade a week on avaerage per cross. So if you are trading 7 crosses you may have as many as 5 trades open during each week.

Hello Everyone,

I tell you, VP 7 has really renewed my interest. Try this:

Chart predicted values for Short Term, Medium Term, Long Term Trends, High, Low, Strength, Neural Index and Stochastic.

Primary signal: Neural Index, Strength same side of zero line PLUS Stochastic signaling in same direction.

Confirming signals: High, Low same side of zero line & sloping in trade direction, Short Term & Medium Term sloping in direction of trade.

Split position into 3rds, take profit on 1/3 at 50 pips and move stop to break even, take profit on 1/3 at 100 pips and let rest ride until stopped out or strong resistance met.

Pay attention to support & resistance. I use pivot points calculated using Fibonacci ratios on a weekly basis. VT Trader software does this for me. Whenever possible buy at support and sell at resistance. I use stops from a VT Trader indicator I bought from tradecurrency.ca, but I imagine you could use VP stops. Never risk more than 2-3% of your account on any trade. As always, test it yourself before trading real $$$.

All credit to WilliamK, this is just a modification of the strategy he has been so kind to share.

Good Luck!

Howdy all,

Since updating to 7.0 I have been testing different methods. The "4 out of 5" method still works well the key is major $$$ managment. Making sure you let your winners run because if you don't you will at best breakeven. http://www.traderchat.com/boards/ima...lies/frown.gif

I can't stress enough that you need to take any method found here or anywhere else with you brokers candles for the Open, High, Low & Close. That is the data that you will be actually entering and exiting when you trade with REAL $$$$. All brokers data is not the same so your results may not be the same as mine but close.

The method that I have come up with and am trading with REAL $$$ on the GbpJpy & GbpUsd. The results for and again using my brokers candles backtested by hand is:

72% for the GbpJpy with 52% of total trades greater than 100pips

71% for the GbpUsd with 50% of total trades greater than 100pips

The chart setup and method is :
Predicted Neural Index (NI)
Predicted Short Term Difference (PSTD)
Predicted Medium Term Difference (PMTD)

When the NI changes to a 1 signaling a Long check to make sure the PSTD is above the PMTD. You have a Long signal

When the NI changes to a 0 signaling a Short check to make sure the PSTD is below the PMTD.

I told you it was KISS(Keep it Simple Stupid) http://www.traderchat.com/boards/ima...ies/tongue.gif

Again I found this to work best on the GbpJpy & GbpUsd

Hello Bill...

Thanks very much for sharing your Super Simple System as well as the words of wisdom about MM. Like you, I have been trading with a '4 out of 5' type of system and indeed know about the importance of using $$$ wisely.

There may be other currency pairs that would perform well with your Kiss method, so I will be doing some extra back-testing this week.

Is anyone using CSI Data for VP 7.0?

This last data for FOREX has highs and lows about 4 pips apart for many pairs. I 've tried phoning --no good -- they "will call back". Emailing -- no reply.

I've removed the CSI 70 folder and rewritten the files -- little difference.

The CSI tables of prices show this. The VP charts can't cope, naturally.

What is the solution?
