metatrader
MT4 has them as an indicator. Just look into Custom indicators and you will find it. Drag it over any chart.

If your MT4 doesn't have it for some reason, let me know and I'll post it

It is possible in MT4 (though not a built-in feature). Is this what you are trying to do?

1st chart - Regular GBPUSD M5 with Heiken Ashi overlay indicator

2nd chart - Offline GBPUSD M5 chart where the chart candles (and underlying data) are the Heiken Ashi candles.

there are no apps (IOS preferably) that allow a trader to use heiken ashi/renko charting? the broker I have does no offer me such services on their mt4 platform

Trading212 has heiken-ashi, it's iOS and web app. No renko though.
