Anyone ever seen a script that will load a specific (of my choice) template on all open charts?

I have one that will change all open charts to specified time frame, nice to have thanks to zznbrm .

Tommy,

It's not possible to call a template from a script using the MQL4 language.

It might be possible to 'get inside' the MT4 executable as zznbrm has apparently done in the example you posted, but that's beyond the level of my knowledge.

Try attached script. Set "templateIndex" user parameter to the index value of the template you want to load. For the first template in your list, set to 0; for the second template in your list, set to 1; etc...

Very cool... however when I try to compile it I get this error.

'GetParent' - function is not defined.

Being the non coder I am I do not know what it is needing ...

it shows the error dot on the following line.

int intParent = GetParent ( WindowHandle ( Symbol () , Period () ) );

What I am thinking is to have 2 copies of this script and assign each a different template then assign each copy of the script a hot key... With my G11 (logitech) keyboard the scripts would then be but a single keystroke away..

Your designated template will be applied to all charts. It worked for me (I'm running Win XP Home SP2 / br0ker FXDD / MT4 build 402).

Looks like hanover helped you with this. Over the years, I've added many other WinAPI functions to my WinUser32.mqh file that are not provided in the "standard" version included in MT4. I forget about that sometimes! Glad you got it worked out.

It works exactly like I want it to..

I have a weekly template I use to scan for possible set ups, then assign hot key's to each script, and with one keystroke using your script "ChgTF-All" can drop down to a lower time frame on all my pairs for entry and with one more keystroke using your "ChangeTemplate-All" can change all charts to my lower T/F template..
(in the past I had to of course change each chart one at a time)

Easy to simply rename and save another copy of your scripts with correct defaults to suite my needs...

Simplification is a beautiful thing...

Can anyone explain step by step what exactly to do in order to make this script working? I dont understand as well.
Hi Saras

1. Download the script file.
2. Save it in your MT4 Directory/Experts/Scripts
3. Open all the charts you want to change, right click on one of them and locate the template you want to copy to all charts starting from zero for the first template until you see the one you want. Eg. Template you want is 5th one down the template list, it will be 4 (0,1,2,3,4)
3. Open Navigator menu to access experts,indicators & scripts
4. Drag the script onto any chart, select the input tab, then type in 4, and ok.

Charts are all changed to the 5th template.

How many minutes do I enter to change to Monthly time period?
Since it looks like the programming experts about scripts are here I am going to post the question here.

I am looking to find a script that will change all windows to the same currency pair, can that be done?
