It is designed with M1 charts in mind.
Instructions
Place the attached indicator in the indicator folder. Run your intraday backtest in Open Prices Only mode and attach the indicator to the chart. Ensure the indicator Inputs setting SlowOnHourStart is set to the correct chart hour that you like to backtest each days data from. Set the tester speed slider fully to the right (32). Press play on the tester or the pause button on your keyboard to start fast-forwarding through bars.
Once the chart time hits the designated hour value your MT4 will literally lock-up for approximately 1 second. This is your chance to press the tester pause button or your keyboard pause button. You will then notice that (if you leave the SlowSeconds value at the default of 5) the tester will lock-up for a few more second and then be paused and ready for you to begin manually forwarding the backtest with the F12 key like normal or play it automatically at a slower pace by adjusting the speed slider back from the maximum speed value.
Example
It is setup to already have a value of 9 for the SlowOnHourStart value. This is because on my charts that is when London volume picks up each day, so once I have finished looking at a days session I don't care to look at the any bars until 9am chart time of the next historical day. By F12'ing through the days data I can do whatever I need to do, such as running a Simulator EA or testing an indicator through certain chart times, or whatever. Once I reach the end of what I care to look at for that days worth of historical data I then press the pause button on the keyboard and due to leaving the speed slider at maximum the chart flashes across my screen and within a very brief moment pauses at 9.00 chart time of the next day due to my indicator locking-up MT4. This is my chance to now press the pause button again to stop the automatic fast-forward process from resuming once MT4 is no-longer locked-up and I have now regained manual control at what is now the start of the next trading session I am interested in viewing.
Notes
I have no reason to think this won't work on anyone elses computer. A value of under 5 for SlowSeconds seems to be a bit sketchy, so I have re-uploaded with this as the default value.
