Would someone please help me with writing a strategy?

I am trying to do some backtesting on the MT4 platform, using three EMA's but have no idea how to even go about it, I would like three, EMA's 5,21,and 50. All would be applied to typical price (HLC/3) and all have a shift of 0.
If there is anyone out there could help, I would so much appreciate it.

you can always do it manually (by hand)

I think that's the best way, because it (somewhat) figures in the human component. Just don't cheat, you will only be hurting yourself.

By hand only works if you're trading closed candles. You don't know what the MA's did on price action during a bar.

Check out Expert Advisor Builder. If you google "expert advisor builder" it's the first link.

Basically, you just have to fill in the fields and click "submit" and <poof> there's your EA

Now, I wouldn't take your new EA live just yet, but it's a great way to whip out a basic EA that then you only have to tweak a little from there. It's also a great way to learn how to code later on since you'll probably break it along the way and have to learn how to fix it
