Got interested in the subject when browsing another thread, so I spend some time and found these movies, videos and documentaries related to trading. This post will store the list and I'll update it...For locating brief summary of each video, google or imdb would be good.

I love this Will Smith movie too, the struggle he went through... His role more related to financial adviser B-) so I didn't put him on the list above, though I wanted to. There are simply too many movies that are inspirational, so I have to narrow the list to keep the context relevant.

I like it too...also The BBC documentary - The Billion dollar day. It shows a single day where 3 traders, one in Hong Kong (bank trader), one London (bank trader) and one USA (independent trader) trade 1 billion dollars, back in the 80s. Who won?

I 'found' most of the videos I listed above except open outcry and floored. As far as I know, the distribution of the film got into a bit of problem. The closest link to watch some parts of the film is the babelgum site.

Bablegum, the last time I checked had the whole movie in episodes, but no extras. The DVD is supposedly packed with extra stuff, you can order it at the floored website. The DVDs have been produced so you can actually order it now.

Added a movie I have found, not on trading, but at the root of what we are doing, the root of money.

1790: Mayer Amschel Rothschild states,

1815, this is the year Nathan Mayer Rothschild makes his famous statement,

"I care not what puppet is placed upon the throne of England to rule the Empire on which the sun never sets. The man who controls Britain's money supply controls the British Empire, and I control the British money supply."

I watch the start of the film it was so boring I didn't see the rest

By the way do you know that Trading Places was produced by Aaron Russo who was Trader on Gold in his life ? He did die of Cancer recently and before did give an astonishing interview

The U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against the city of Cleveland's case accusing 21 Wall Street bank and mortgage lenders of creating a public nuisance. The city believes that these lenders caused the current foreclosure crisis engulfing the local economy "through their varying levels of involvement in sub-prime mortgages for real property in Cleveland." In short, risky lending practices.
The panel of three Federal judges did not agree. They did not see the direct causation between the lenders actions and the alleged "injury" to Cleveland's economy, which included increased poverty and mass foreclosures.
The original case, filed in 2008, pinpointed big name defendants such as Ameriquest Mortgage Company, Bank of America (BAC: 12.64 +1.36%), Bear Stearns Companies, Deutsche Bank (BSC: 10.4732 -0.86%) and Merrill Lynch (AQS: 14.05 0.00%), just to name a few,of engaging in risky lending activities beginning as early as 2003. The city claimed they were responsible for the rise in foreclosures to over 7,500 in 2007, up from fewer than 120 in 2002.
Countering this claim and others made by the city of Cleveland, Senior Judge Richard Suhrheinrich wrote in a 15-page opinion that "[t]he case of the alleged harms is a set of actions (neglect of property, starting fires, looting, and dealing drugs) that is completely distinct from the asserted misconduct (financing subprime loans)."
The case, formally known as The City of Cleveland v. Ameriquest Mortgage Securities Inc, inspired a documentary called Cleveland vs. Wall Street that took shape in early 2010 and premiered at Cannes Film Festival in May.
