Something I'm watching, no trading. If we can climb higher and get price action around the 61% fib, I'll be more interested.

GBP/USD Short setup 11AM PST 8/24/10

Some follow-up...may not get that chance to short higher...

Keeping an eye on UJ in case we see some retrace during the upcoming Tokyo session. Will watch for shorts around 84.8, S&R + 61% Fib + Downtrend.

I'll be focusing on 84.9-85 for a short sell, looking for a sell off during the Tokyo session if price can get up into that range.

Note, heavy USD news tomorrow AM in the form of the US Unemployment report.

Adding AUD/USD sell watch .888ish, S&R, Trend. Will work on a chart later.

The AUD/USD setup that I was watching and traded last night is attached below. I hedged this with a EUR/USD long (also attached below), playing a breakout, retest and continuation. With 1:2 risk reward and equal risk taken on both trades (.5% of account), I only required one trade to work out in order to profit.

The initial green EUR/USD long was halted with the London open and subsequently stopped out. AUD/USD chopped around, never seeing any real direction until later this AM. With a positive news release, green equities open and a nice support buy zone this morning, I again longed EUR/USD, hedging my AUD/USD short. After we saw a nice green candle on the EUR/USD, I cut my AUD/USD loss short 8p from SL and let the EUR/USD run to TP.

In short, a breakeven evening/early morning. Two out of three trades were losers although I still was able to come in at breakeven. The importance of proper risk vs reward vs consistent risk per every trade taken was proven once again.

USD/JPY came pretty damn close to my sell zone but I didn't take it, afraid of a break higher. Shame, the pair fell nicely into my proposed TP zone later this morning.

I've taken only one trade this week thus far, a UJ short that was stopped out Sunday evening.

Short taken with TL, gap up (anticipating close downward) and minimal S&R in place.

Took an AU short this morning that's about to be stopped out...

.9055, stops above recent spike highs.
