I think what Merlin is referring to with "good" and "bad" is that if inflation is high and the Fed looks to be raising rates-that's "good" for the $ in terms of trading it because it will get stronger.
Of course in overall terms, inflation does mean that purchasing power is eroding which of course is bad for the $ and the people who use it domestically. However, when the $ increases in value it causes foreign goods to become relatively cheaper.
So inflation is both good and bad for different reasons and in different contexts...got it??...lololol
