hey all

many many thanks for the ongoing PM's and e-mails I get regarding my free system here and how I try to teach people to look at Individual Currencies & Equity Correlation........ here it is :-

http://www.trade2win.com/boards/fore...ml#post1862498

nope ....its not perfect .....(hint - nothing is http://static2.trade2win.com/boards/.../icon_wink.gif) ......

but I hope it helps you to realise that looking at individual currency strengths does help correct pair selection and prioritisation of signals http://static2.trade2win.com/boards/...lies/smart.gif

anyway in answer to people who contact me regarding training heres the score :-

1) I ran a pilot last year for around 50 Students for 6 months (my VIP CREW / Website)

2) It was a learning process for everyone.....mainly me !

3) The main cristism I received was that I was not teaching Students everything ......thats Trading from scratch for the total newbies that attended (despite my pre-warnings it was not for newbies)...I am not a newbie trainer !

4) Other than that I think the students that attended liked my course - although some wanted more and more rules and guarantees of success - despite my continued attempts to teach them that Trading is not an absolute science - and that this style of trading continue to evolve.....and to experiment themselves with patterns and settings and signals aligned to their own personalities and styles

so everyone learnt something along the way........

More courses ?

My business Partner is still recuperating from a major illness so I have no plans to launch another course....and if I do, then it needs some major overhauls so people are 100% aware of what they are getting.........and not getting http://static2.trade2win.com/boards/.../icon_wink.gif

also in truth I would need to charge a lot more than the sub $300 fee last time as frankly it doesnt cover my Costs of Team, admin, time , overheads etc .........and I make a lot more $$'s using my time elsewhere - sorry !

(something I suspect is why so many great Traders on this T2W site do not bother to teach anymore)

so no plans from me folks at this moment - sorry !

if you have a question please ask it here or at my own FXcorrelator.com website - I am always happy to talk http://static2.trade2win.com/boards/...lies/smart.gif

http://fxcorrelator.com/corrie2/blog/history-101/

back on history again !

heres the corrie on a monthly 150ma setting ..I cant set it higher as I lose the history/charts

Again look at how the Yen and USD feed the Dow rises up to 2007 / & Dow feeds the YEN & USD falls..........this carry trade is a self fulfilling prophecy

now we see the 2008 shunt and Yen gets more of a kick north than USD in that move.....so they become a little less re-aligned than 2002...

but now look closely at the last 5 years .....is it my eyes or have the USD and Yen worked less south on this Dow climb ?

the Yen certainly has .....it hasnt been the mega carry trade like the 2002-2008 move .........sure USD has been hit ......but as much ?

what does this all mean ...............well something and nothing ......its up to us to find rhyme and reson and see if that gives clues for the future

Ive been playing this correlation / Strengthmeter game now since the mid 2000's and I am still learning every day

Currency dynamics and relationships move in and out of patterns all the time ....if you can understand even a small percentage of whats happening it gives you a better edge

but you need tools like the FXcorrelator to do it ......

good hunting today

Hey all !

http://fxcorrelator.com/corrie2/blog...mple-simple-2/

Despite my hundreds of variations and combinations of indicators based around the FXCorrelator, I have to confess that the 20ma Default setting that I offer here for Free is a world beater ....

Why ?

because it is based on a great concept of relative strength combined with simple MA ideas and correlation concepts ...and it is consistent in that pattern most of the time....

DOW Rising = YEN & USD falling
DOW falling = YEN & USD falling

look at 3 timeframes right now below.... weekly to 15ms...the broadest spectrum of TF's to trade .....

and the pattern is there all the time ....!

Now go trade it !

Hello NVP,

DOW Rising = YEN & USD falling
DOW falling = YEN & USD falling

Should one of the above state that the YEN & USD are rising?

Thanks.

hey there ....apologies you are correct....I mistyped the message !

DOW UP = YEN USD DOWN
DOW DOWN = USD & YEN UP

heres the week so far according to my 20ma (Default) FXCorrelator system set on the Dow ....its on a 1hr TF

Week ending…..|FXCORRELATOR

the arrows show where we had system correlation

Dow up & Yen down & USD Down
OR
Dow down & Yen up & USD up

during those phases you were free to find other currencies opposing the Yen and USD and trade them......aggressively !

dropping down to the 15m TF to find good triggers is aways advisable as well....or even the 5min if you are really bold !

anyway I see we are still Technically selling USD and YEN off a Dow still above its 20 sma line so lets stay on that until further notice

Good trading today

Just 2 questions if that's ok.

Is the relationship Dow up = Yen Usd down effective during the London morning session, or only when NY is open?

What MT4 broker provides Dow data?

Thanks.

good questions !

1) I use Dow futures and it seem to be pretty robust 24/7......naturally I would be more confident during the actual NY trading hours for the correlation but it doesnt seem to affect performance too much either way....S&P works as well based on swinging above and below a 20sma same process.....

2) I use a FXCM_UK live platform for my feed......I know the Dow charts can be difficult to access in the US/Canadian countries so perhaps a web-based chart is needed with the 20sma loaded and you run it alongside the Mt4 platform ?..........there plenty out there

great days trading today .......excellent signals on the 15m !

hey all ...

http://fxcorrelator.com/corrie2/blog/q4-begins/

ready for another 3m rollercoaster?.....

whats it gonna be ?

The sells on USD and Yen off of the dramatic Dow power plays of Q1 and Q3 this year ?

or the consoidation and falls of the Dow in Q2 ....sending Yen and USD through the roof ?

time will tell.....

heres a weekly on the left (default 20ma) telling the story ....and a daily TF on the right side ....for Sept where YEN and USD got their ass handed to them on a plate....by the Euro !

its good to have a decent picture of events eh ?.....better than a single E/U or G/U chart .....you have to see the WHOLE picture to play this brutal game of trading ....believe me

HINT ....see how AUD was a major player to be traded against USD and Yen in Q1&Q2?......Q3 it took a back seat .....perhaps its time for the Aussie boys to play again ?

have a great quarter ....xmas can be expensive ....!

morning all

http://fxcorrelator.com/corrie2/blog...riday-to-call/

usually I can give some view of the day at this point but a little difficult today

ok - despite whatever other people tell you traders do like to sleep at weekends !....so a normal friday is about tidying things up before the weekend

this week the Dow got big and Traders made money selling yen and USD ......this means little johnny and jenny get the weekend skiing in St moritz with the Nanny and the private Swiss school fees get paid for another month ....

they are looking at the charts (Below) and seeing that the Dow has already been flatlining for a while so really unless we get the Dow challenging 13,500 they are home and dry...and no need to adjust trades further (as already adjusted earlier in week)

so thats in compardres .....unless Dow gets under pressure later I cannot call a big move for today ....aside from normal standard rules of combat - which at this point are screaming to sell GBP on lower TF's ....

have a great day - i will :smart:

hey all

ive been looking at Strengthmeters and correlation now for many many years (since the early 2000's)

and I have been sharing stuff here for free for over 2 years and also more recently on my website and a few videos at YouTube

http://fxcorrelator.com/corrie2/blog/follow-the-rules/

Why ?

well without the discipline of painfully public posting, being an author and Training/being responsible to students....I wouldnt be here - as it focuses me a lot .....and I also receive back a lot more than I ever give in terms of knowledge and ideas !

I have literally hundreds of systems and indicators in the tank that I would never have found without other peoples kind help and incredible abilities at trading....!

so back to business - heres last week on the 1hr chart

simple - Brutal - profitable !

Have a great weekend

Neil
