NVP, I read almost the entire thread over at T2T and then this one here. I loaded up both of your indicators (the one you have here known as the scalper, and the one at T2T, known only as the corrie). I loaded both up and put them side by side. The scalper seems much smoother ad easier on the eyes. Is there a difference in the coding that I should be aware of when deciding which one to test? I trade the 15M charts mainly, and use the 5 minute to time my entries.

[color=red]One other question. I know for shorter timeframes,...

hey Capstone

good to have you on the team

the corries indicators are the same - just reset the MA to what you like to use........

lower MA's will swing you in and out of signals (eg 20ma) much faster than higher MA's (50 to 200)..up to you what you want to do

similarly higher timeframes will provide more solid signals on these settings as higher TF's should be more reliable (or are they ?)

the Delta setting is almost like a slowing feature that softens the trend more .....I wouldnt go above 3 and personally i like the 1 as it
will always show you even the smallest retrace on the signal...if you do want to soften say a 20ma...then move the delta to 3 but also increase the
ma to 14............a 14/3 equals same signals as a 20/1 but its smoother.....a delta 3 means roughly you take 25-30% off the Ma but
its not an exact science !

also remember that a 200ma Corrie on a 1hr charts gives very similar signals to a 50ma corrie on a 4h chart.....but a lower timeframe always will be more flexible in approach and readable as you are getting a faster signal based on more bars

read the whole thread at T2W again if you can ....I've forgotten more things that I could possibly put in a document !!!

hey mate

how long is a piece of string ?

generally if you were using classic scalper signals I would advocate after entering you watch the currency lines and take profit at an agreed ATR target or if you get a good move on a higher MA (20+) then move S/L positions if either currency crosses back across the Zero (ie they are both back on the same side) and then call it a day when the currencies physically cross over

Hey Magic !

it really depends as the systems are always evolving and I am experimenting all the time..at the moment theres all the triple arrow stuff going on where I am layering 3 seperate corrie settings/signals to generate a signal

the 2020 is a good foundation to learn the process and get comfortable with using the FXcorrelator

load up 2 GBPUSD charts ( 2 adjacent timeframes say 1h and 15m or perhaps 15m and 5min) and drop the FXcorrelator onto it - make sure the MA setting is 20 and the Delta setting is 1 for both as it may not be the default seeting - I cant remember !!

then trade when the usd (green) and the Yen (yellow) are both on the same side of the zero line and on BOTH CHARTS (ie you have all above or below the Zero)

match them to a currency on opposite sides on both timeframes

this is a very simple approach and theres lots and lots of extras you can overlay (for example if yuo read my thread I really prefer the US3o Dow to be moving in opposite direction to the Yen and USD to support my trades) .......but thats it in a nutshell

PS - the 15m/5m combo is fast and probably the most equivalent to Scalping so try that ........you can go even faster of course using the 5m and 1m charts but boy you would need to increase the Ma on that 1m chart to get some kind of heads up as it would be insanely fast signals

Good luck and practice practice practice !!

Thanks a lot for all that info. I really appreciate you taking all your time to respond. I know you're quite busy. I'll keep up with the T2W site and post more questions there.

Definitely it's all about practice, practice, practice. Have a great week!

hey - no problem ............I use all this stuff as an escape from a pretty tedious (but busy) job to be honest !

T2W is where all the main posts go and I do try to update this forum when I can........but maintaining more than 1 forum would be to time consuming unfortunately

Hi all

as mentioned in last post GBP has been the superstar sell and is still going south.....do you see see the lovely Price action patterns (LH,LL) on that 500ma chart below ? http://www.trade2win.com/boards/imag...s/thumbsup.gif

as US30 turns northerly for a while looks like the Tag Team is changing tack to south finally..but it certainly looks to me like a reluctant fall..http://www.trade2win.com/boards/images/smilies/sly.gif..and you are going to have a long wait to get those arrows all pointing south !

AUD and NZD look strong........CAD has fallen off the pace

CHF is flagging a triple arrow buy but as you know I struggle with this guys loyalties these days

reading between the lines looks like that GBPAUD sell was probably trade of the morning........again ! http://www.trade2win.com/boards/imag.../whistling.gif

A CHALLENGE TO YOU ALL

Expert traders (I mean the proven ones - not the millions of b*llsh*t artists)

differentiate themselves from us mere mortals by their (uncanny ?) abilities to have a "feel" for the market that they are sucessful in........or the way they can "read" the plays almost in advance..........blah blah blah

the rest of us just buy the books, watch the Videos and buy the systems hoping some of that magic and ability will rub off if we practice hard enough..........http://www.trade2win.com/boards/imag...s/icon_sad.gif

RUBBISH !!!!

if you read the linked T2W thread, and watch the videos (well the handful that are ok http://www.trade2win.com/boards/imag.../icon_razz.gif) and follow up to date what we are doing here + spend time eyeballing and practicing with your own correlators (or use my settigns) then I guarantee 100% that you will (eventually) have a better "feel" for the G8 Forex market than everyone else out there.......and then when you have that the pips and trades will follow trust me

as an example just look back at the few posts that I made today and all I am doing is following simple rules combining a few charts http://www.trade2win.com/boards/imag...lies/smart.gif

YES - I know it looks like 8 sqiggly lines playing around the maypole but thats the way it is (c'mon we got arrows now http://www.trade2win.com/boards/imag.../icon_razz.gif )

c'mon try it and feedback here as you go ........but you have to commit to persevering and doing it - and not drift off onto the next cr*p system that promises wealth and riches !
