I don't understand why, isn't that you are supposed to make money with sell order when the price drop?

But look at this order, I opened an sell order at 1.51276, but the closed at 1.60330, but the market has never traded that price during this period, what's going on here?

Well, it's a demo acct so price action/data feed will not be accurate by no means. Now if this were a live acct I would advise you to contact the broker
and have them correct the problem. With demo accts anything goes as it's usually not a real data feed or will be a delayed data feed. So I wouldn't lose sleep over this ... demo's are test beds for brokers.

Ya that is a demo, but I just curious what's the mechanism behind this.

Maybe becasue it is the high volatility, but still it is hard to understand.

Well, the sudden deep spike down really is unusual today. Never seen anything like this in last few months.

Maybe this is why you should always place a stop loss on any open orders.

Yes, what mechanism is behind this?
I believe it is demo or not, you must contact your broker.
Now, I believe that is broker's focus.
When you place stop order, he will hit you with slippage.

It is a demo account. sometimes they get bad data and that is what causes the large spike. Since it is just a demo acct most brokers arent too concerned with fixing it. If you have a live account it likely wont be on the chart. You could also download another brokers mt4 and cross check it.

There is no "mechanism" behind it, whatever that means. And it wasnt high volatility. It is just simply bad data, period.

There is no slippage per se because I didn't even place the stop loss on this order.

So the demo data is not reliable. But I assume that the data for the demo is still realtime. Or could the data be a delayed? I think it is realtime, because I compared this to oanda chart, they pretty much in sync, except one in a while the data from Alpri trade gap up or down after weekend.

One trader told me that demo chart is more precise than a real account chart because on live accounts brokers sometimes warp data for their purposes. So, he traded live but watched demo charts.

I always had better execution and much less slippage when I put limit orders during the news on DEMO accounts. I don't know how you expect live accounts to be better.
