Hi,
I create an EA that uses a grid trading strategy that I came up with. It performs amazingly on every currency from 2000-2006. However from 2007-Now the EA performs very poorly on every currency. Usually it does not LOSE money, but it earns FAR less. Why could this be? Is it because of the housing crash/global repercussions? Or is it because the emergence of automated trading robots changed the behavior of the market to such a degree?
To give you some more information, my EA makes money on the oscillating nature of the market and utilizes minimally small Take Profits. Trends with no oscillation are bad for it.
I am very afraid of the second scenario being the cause because it would mean that my entire grid trading strategy is useless now. What do you guys think?
