Would this be the correct demand zone for u/j? Also, eagle, do you use trendlines in your analysis/ trading, and if so, how do you apply them along side your median lines? thanks. {image}
Ignored
I like to trade at the extremes of price then pick the trend direction and trade in intermediate levels in direction of trend. I don't draw tend lines on 5m charts because it is too time consuming. Imagine the weekly daily and 4h as helping to identify trend direction. The 15m and 5 m for me is to intraday trade in direction or in response to the overall direction of the market. For example if you saw that the euro was trending upward nicely on a daily or 4h chart, would you short it on the 5 minute? That was my point to your question about using median lines in conjunction with supply demand zones on lower timeframes. Those who have mastered supply demand use the higher levels and enter their trades on smaller timeframes WITHIN those levels. My background is simply sr and median lines mostly with some fib training as well. I am by no means a master trader, but what I am TESTING is working and I hope to apply more info if necessary. Look most people don't understand or like median lines to begin with that is why I don't include much info on this topic. The higher timeframe FIBS also work very well as intraday sr/sd so you could imagine drawing a 4h fib then using it on a 5m chart would be very beneficial as well. I have done this and have been in trades where ls is 20 pips or less and profit has been over 250 pips near a fib extension. The point I want to make clear also is that home runs don't matter! It is about the risk reward ratio and proper money management! If you have a 4:1 risk reward ratio and 40% success rate you will be near a person with 80% success rate and 1:1 risk reward ratio. This game is about money management riskreward spotting opportunities and cashing in your chips early. Aka not being greedy or a pig. Sorry for the long post guys but some people have followed me here from the median line thread which I am humbled by but these methods are a bit different yet synchronous tic. You have to have a bit of chart experience to understand what I mean. All the best trades for you

Was this ^ in response to my question about my u/j entry? If so, from looking at the chart, it looks like I was trading short at the price extremes.

For now I just look at whatever chart is giving me opportunity and trade the direction of my analysis on that chart.

I try not to read too much into how all the times frames mesh together because I'm still not that good of a trader and also because it's easy to fall into analysis paralysis. I think Tim mentioned on one of his webinars that he only trades the time frame he's in.

{quote} This is a recent chart of the eurusd showing a mpl, or multi pivot line. This is a line that shows multiple pivots and therefore greater resonance and frequency. I will show a basic support level, as well as a demand level drawn in. Most demand levels are just horizontal mpl's anyways. An mpl can be horizontal or diagonal, so for instance it could be a trendline with multiple touches as well showing good frequency. {image} {image}

Thanks for this post, eaglestar.
What mpl represent? Can you share your point of view? I think it's all about how orders fills.

Can you explain how you draw these demand zones? In the zone on the bottom of the chart, I see that your connecting the absolute lows, but where are you connecting the high within the zone?

Hi eaglestar, thanks for your charts, how you can is volume entering (more trade into the market) or volume consumes? (traders taking profit) sometimes happens that is the d/s is consume and a real break throuth the zone occurs, other time is volume entering and a bounce occurs.

For the most part, in my experience, the more volume the more moves in the market. If there are many buyers and sellers and large orders, price will have to get to certain numbers for those trades to be filled. This is a shot of USDCHF today with volume shown. Search for VSA here and you can read a few pages about how to read volume. Price moves by either an increase of volume ie buyers or sellers entering, or a decrease in volume causing price to get squeezed and no buyers or sellers left. Price can not stand still.
