Just a bunch of questions on what I can do with MetaTrader.

Can I create my own "objects"? That is can I get input from the mouse (location and clicks)?

Can I make an indicator to interact with objects that I have created by hand on the chart? That is if I were to draw a trendline by hand can I have a program I write interact with it?

Has anyone successfully and reasonably used metatrader as a log book?

Limited. See the window functions.

"Can I make an indicator to interact with objects that I have created by hand on the chart? That is if I were to draw a trendline by hand can I have a program I write interact with it?"
Yes. As an example, check the code in Tesla's fancy shmancy alerting indicator. Make sure to grab the updated code post #23.

You've got access to the raw data, you can perform pretty much any calculations you'd like.

Anyone know what the format of the output of this

WindowTimeOnDropped()

function is?

When I drag the script into the chart at for example 2007.05.04 14:00 the output of the function is 1178287200 which means absolutely nothing to me. Am I misusing this function or is there something I'm missing? The file type I'm storing the function to is datetime.

You're getting the number of seconds that have elapsed since the reference timeframe that MT4 uses as a starting point counter. You have to use the funciton in conjunction with other time functions to get the correct day, hour, minute and/or second.

use TimeToStr() function to convert that number to a readable time.
