USD has been in the defensive after all those subprime problem.
A good CPI might send USD into a short rally. But a bad CPI might sent it up to the roof.
Something to note: US Retail Sales was -0.1%
Over at CNBC last week, I heard them reporting about Retailers' sales figures. Excluding Wal-Mart the number was good but when Wal-Mart was added, the number dropped significantly - not because Wal-mart had a bad month, but because of heavy discounting.
We may indeed see a bad CPI later.
