Hi master coders,
Can someone please add the the "moving Average of Oscillator"(OsMA) as a filter to the "MA crossover Alert indicator"?

Example when 3ma cross's over the 5ma the OsMA must be above the zero line before it alerts (draws arrow, makes sound, send email)

Or the opposite 3ma cross's below the 5ma the OsMA must be below the zero line before it alerts.

Some times the cross happens then the OsMA catches up in a few bars, that would still be a valid time to throw out an alert.
I'll try a screen shot post.
Thx in advance.

Looks at close of last bar.

I modified the indicator attached in post 1 -> extended alertmethods and added the opportunity to enable the osma-filter (you can change fastma,slowma,signal-periods).
if the filter is enabled, make sure you have the OsMA.ex4 indicator in your mt4/experts/indicators/-folder ...

PM me with coding requests and I'll probably put you on my ignore list

Thanks a lot futurespec and fxdaytrader!

It looks pretty good but something is missing. I attached the following picture from today that I made.

I just modified your Indicator with the my set ups, nothing more:

FastMA_Period = 3 (Yellow)
SlowMA_Period = 5 (Violett)

In the chart, how you can see I use the MA 5 with shift 1. I didn't modified in your alert indicator something with the shift 1 of this MA, hope that is correct.
Only changed your MA's settings. (MA20 for MA5 and MA5 for MA3)
In the picture I describe what I miss. I hope it is not too much work, maybe I can I give you something if you want.

Regards
Jean Paul

Hello fxdaytrader,

thanks for your effort. I appreciate it really.
Now it looks like that (too much arrows)
In general the indicator should be like the 1st post from tommbstone.

Thanks
JeanPaul

Thanks fxdaytrader,

unfortunately it is not working.
I attached the picture. The alert should come at that position where I marked the vertical lines in the chart.
Blue=up, red=down.

Maybe this indicator ist to heavy to code and that is the reason I can't find it nowhere.

But thanks fxdaytrader.

JeanPaul

Thanks futurespec!

I checked the indicator. It is almost perfect now.
But it has still one problem.
For example when OsMA is above the 0-Line and the MA's cross again in the right direction, the alert is missing.
See in picture please.
But its almost perfect!

Can you change the vertical lines with arrows please?
The alert is also very important. Can you make it show with Time-Frame? Now it say only up or down.

Thank you very much!
Hope we can make it perfect now. Just this 3 things.

Regards
JeanPaul

JP,

Sorry no time now.
Have changed the alert to show period.
1 out of 3 is a start.
Why arrows and not lines?

Thanks futurespec,

lines are also ok, maybe sometimes confusing if you insert lines in the chart to analyze. (too much lines then)
But its ok I can live with that.

The main thing is the missing alert in the picture above.

But anyway thanks for all!!!!!!!

Not sure it was working correctly but think it is now.
If not let me know.

Added option to use arrows or lines (or both)

The screenshot you showed above now matches mine so fingers crossed

Hello futurespec,

sorry that I have to say the indicator is not working correctly.
I took the Indicator which you provided in Post 17.

It is repainting :-( and lot of arrows are missing.

Did you changed something between the indicator from Post 17 to Post 18?

The result is this from the indicator from Post 17.
