{quote} Thank you for sharing Very interesting. I like an analytical approach to things. Having said that, personally I find volume profiles too nebulous for my taste. Yes, I've read the books and considered the merits, but in the end it's not for me. Regression I've worked with a lot. A few years ago I developed a multi-scale market model based on that. I enjoyed that, and found it beautiful, but in the end it wasn't as helpful for trading as it was aesthetically pleasing. The reason for that, I believe, is the prediction hypothesis....

One good trade a day keeps the bailiffs away Notice the encircled volume buildup.I didn't bother about the short. I guess there will be another push up, but this may just be enough for today.

{quote} Interesting. Noisy on Dax or NQ in the mornings? We do have auto alarms to help with not needing to read candle by candle
Ignored
I was referring to NQ, where I wouldn't expect any alarms to go off, due to the lighter volumes. Still it was worth a hundred points from 7.15 to 9.15. But why watch a grind when you can do 100 points in a few minutes in the afternoon?

Oh, you're too kind. It's just experience. Over the years I've traded S/R, range bars and tick charts, and I'm just putting it to use. I've also studied all kinds of complex things, but I don't think complexity translates to profitability.

And I detest watching sequences of candles that are of unequal lengths, shapes, and sizes unfold - in order to use that for decision making. Why? When one can put a line down and see when it breaks or holds.

Thus these "as simple as it gets" charts

I wrote a quick&dirty camarilla pp indicator for my platform but I'm not sure I like or trust the values. Could you please have a look and compare it with the ones you get?
This is the DAX and the day is reset each day after midnight on the Asian session start. The timezone is same as Xetra
The used formulas are:
Inserted Code
R4 = Close + (High – Low) * 1.1/2
R3 = Close + (High – Low) * 1.1/4
R2 = Close + (High – Low) * 1.1/6
R1 = Close + (High – Low) * 1.1/12
S1 = Close – (High – Low) * 1.1/12
S2 = Close – (High – Low) * 1.1/6
S3 = Close – (High – Low) * 1.1/4
S4 = Close – (High – Low) * 1.1/2

R5 = R4 + 1.168 * (R4 – R3)
R6 = (High/Low) * Close
S5 = S4 – 1.168 * (S3 – S4)
S6 = Close – (R6 – Close)
thanks.

That's what I did during my first year of trading index futures - DAX in the morning for an hour or two until a decent enough amount had landed in the account. I remember turning the monitors off some time between 9 and 10am to sit back on the sofa to ponder the rest of the day That was a good year.

Then I started comparing DAX to the US index futures, which were so much smoother and with a more opportunity, and I prefer to have my mornings to myself. So here I am. And now, while the trend is up, NQ is really tedious in the morning.

So it's the the first hour or two after the NY open, and that's it

After being stuck as duck the whole morning session on the DAX, I'd like to show my progress on the camarilla stuff. Below is "my" interpretation on camarilla for the last few days. The prices are calculated from the FO (08:00 CET) to the official close (17:35CET) on the FDAX future. The levels are not drawn in the extended hour sessions. I'd really appreciate some feedback. Do you see anything interesting here? Do the levels see correct etc.

You mean I have not posted the indicator?
It that is the question, I think some explanation is in order.

I could post the code, there's nothing to hide there (this is like a 1 hour coding effort). But the issue is this is not the usual MT4/5 stuff.
This is a proprietary trading platform. Everything is coded in C++.

What am seeking here is to sparkle ideas and opinions exchange. I have clearly stated the parameters, formulas of this plot for friends evaluation (i.e. trading hours and level formulas).

The trading platform would be secondary as I have my own, and other folks have their own too and many brokers actually can't use MT4 (mine's can't for sure).

I could open a small account with some MT4/compatible broker just for the purpose of posting here, but I'm not at that stage yet.

I hope this is acceptable.
