The coding to do this is very simple. The configuration of the SMTP is a challenge. Here is some recent info.

The MetaTrader forum is much better for explaining the problem and I suggest you review the postings there to get a better understanding. Just search for "smtp".

You are making fast progress. I couldn't get GMX mail to work. Would you care to share the configuration settings you used?

I was able to sort of get it to work. Before it failed when I used smtp.gmx.com:587. The error message was:Sender address does not belong to logged in user {mp-us001}. Now I don't get the error message when I use the Test function and MetaTrader seems to think the message was sent successfully. However it just disappears into cyberspace. I was trying to send it to my Yahoo mail account. Just to see what would happen, I addressed it to my GMX account and it worked. I guess this is good enough but it seems a little strange. GMX must have some security restrictions in place that prevents it getting outside their domain.

Anyway, thanks.

Edit - I checked my Yahoo Spam folder and the messages were there, so this setup is working fine.
