Hi all,
i thought it was time to start a thread to share my humble years of experience of currency trading. Having spent hours an hours of screen time i have managed to find a system that works for me and i'm sure many of you are familiar (at least subconciously) with it also.
Without further due let's cut to the chase.
I'm bringing you the core of exotic pattern trading. Now i know many of you are familiar with the classic technical patterns. Some of you trade the wedges and H&S'es etc etc.
What you probably haven't noticed is the real patterns behind them where the big players are loading up on.
In this thread i'm gonna post some general patterns i feel most comfortable trading with along with a detailed explanation of what to expect on each of the pattern formations.
here we go:
pattern 1. "trade the kitty's tail".
Now this pattern will take a while to play out. First, we wait for the head formation to project how far down (how big of a cat we are expecting) the body will go (assuming it's not an inverted kitten). Now in this picture we see that the head is about 38% (notice the fib confluence) of the entire body. Now, when the whole body is formed it's the time to step in. The tail is what we are interested in. these types of cats (especially sitting) refers to a high probability sideways market. So the more conservative traders would wait to buy any lower writings.
And look what happened. Tail moving sideways as expected. The pattern has worked out and now we wait for another one.
Remember, these are recommendations only. Trade at your own risk. As with all the patterns, those will work on any timeframe although bigger TF's are advised due to less noise.
I also know that there will be many who have probably tried this kind of approach but without success and therefore might start to aggressively make offensive posts saying that markets are efficient and all the patterns are discounted in price and therefore no edge in exotic pattern trading.
I can only tell you this. When you stare at the charts long enough you start to see things you've never seen before.
Finally, a lot of discretion and experience is needed to trade this approach but once you get the hang of it, you are golden.
PS. Serious traders only, no need to waste the thread with unnecessary posts. Feel free to share your exotic patterns that you have used with sucess.
take care,
lumesh
