I'm backtesting the MegaDroid EA on a test account. I've preloaded M1 data going back, and I'm trying to backtest for an H1 timeframe for a 30 day period. I'm in a demo account and am now in offline mode (thought that may help).
The thing has been running a half hour and I've gotten through about half a day ...
I have visual turned on (is that a bad idea?) and I'm watching the priceline jiggle as it simulates each trade (from what the data says, usually 20-30 price points per minute). At this pace, it will be November before i get through October.
Is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? And I do have a fast PC - XP Pro, Quad Processor, 4GB ram, etc. I'm not doing this on a 386 (just dated myself).
And before I get bashed on looking at MegaDroid (in case the tomato throwing begins) I do want to make sure I'm doing this right so I properly test not only this but other EA's going forward.
Any help would be massively appreciated.
Thanks
