Hello Traders,

This EA is based on the Original Tlatomi method along with its Original Indicators. The Original Tlatomi method .pdf has been attached along with this post, the only difference is the omission of the Shi_silvertrend sig. because we all know shi repaints; I do not use SHI when trading tlatomi so I decided EA should also not use it.

ENTRY:

So EA looks only to nonlagMA and FXSniper CCI. The CCI cross must occur before the nonlagMA signal, if not trade will be skipped (just like the Original Method)

EXIT:

By default EA will exit the trade if either the FXSniperCCI or the nonlagMA displays a reverse signal.

HOW TO INSTALL:

1) unzip tlatomi .zip file you will find attached to this post.
2) there are three folders in the .zip file, one is experts, another is indicators, and lastly is templates
3) paset those repective files of those folders to that of your MT4 Broker.
4) restart MT4, then load the Original Tlatomi-EA template.

Thats it you are now ready start "tlatomi"ing some pips.

*Note: EA will work in anytimeframe and any currency pair, but like the original method this was built and tested around the H4 timeframe GBPUSD. Also please play around with the settings, the purpose of this thread is to find the best possible settings and share results.

Regards,
Mikhail

I am also experimenting with the tlatomi method, specifically for EUR/USD, USD/JPY, AUD/USD, GBP/USD, GBP/JPY and EUR/JPY all on the 4 hour time frame.

I am wondering if using the 5 EMA and 9 SMA would work better than the nonlag indicator, because nonlag indicator seems rather odd to me.

Also the silvertrend indicator seems odd because it jumps around.

What exactly is the FX Sniper ergodic indicator based on?

I'll post later with some of my results and any more thoughts. I am thinking of an exit system that relies on moving average crosses rather than the other indicators in order to stay in the position longer.

Can you tell me something about the timing of entry and exits?

With this EA, do they all occur only at the opening of a new candle?

How are the stops determined?

Here are some backtest results for GBP/JPY, using .1 lots per trade.

November, 06 - Break Even (6 losses in a row, but one big win brought back to break even point)

December, 06 - up by $280. Most profit was made on big swings. At one point it was up by $500, but taking trades at certain levels caused a spree of losses.

I will continue to backtest all the months of 07 now.

I noticed two important things:
- All big gains were made when the Ergodic was either under -200 for longs or over 200 for shorts when it crossed. Almost all trades made between these points resulted in losses. Is there anyway for me to set the EA so it only opens long trades when Ergodic is below -200 and short trades when it is above 200?

- This system exits big trends too early. After a big trend is established, a different exit system should be used (such as 4 EMA crossing back against 13 EMA).

Thank you for your inputs... We can easily modify this EA if you find ways for it to produce better results, this version does exactly as described by the originator in the PDF but it sure has plenty of room for improvement...

I will take a look at taking entries when FX Sniper is above and below 200 level... you might be on to something here...

Regards,
Mikhail

Hey Mikhail,

I am currently doing a one year backtest on the GBP/JPY, it is going to take some time to finish.

I am going to analyze what level the ergodic blue line hit for each trade taken. I feel the +-200 ergodic level is similar to the 70-65/30-35 RSI levels. This indicates that it is oversold or overbought and ready for a big swing.

My concern is that it cashes out too early on long trends. This is the problem with a lot of systems that rely on stochastic crosses for exits. I feel such crosses and RSI levels are good for entries but not exits, because if a long term trend is established in one direction there is a good chance that it will continue trend in that direction despite being oversold/overbought. For example, just look at the recent action on the EUR/JPY. It has been overbought for a while but it continues to rise. I can very easily calculate that my method for exit, the 4 EMA and 13 EMA cross (but only after it is already in profit), is much much much more profitable since this method makes all its money on big swings. With this exit, some individual trades could make over 500 pips (EUR/JPY right now is an example)

One concern is the late entry/exit. I think instead of waiting for the close of the candle, perhaps it can open a position in the last 60 minutes of a candle. The originator of the Tlatomi method himself said that if you want to be more aggressive you can open a position before the close of the candle.

I don't want to make too many changes, but as this EA currently is it seems to me a break even system or a very marginally profitable system. Lots of little losses (due to opening positions between 200 and -200 that are almost always in ranging market, though there are examples of a few good trades at these levels but they don't outweigh the bad trades) and then a big win that could be even bigger. I'll show you some examples on my charts when this backtest is complete. So far April to November 06 are complete, with a profit of only $200 on .1 lots.

Here are my backtest results, one year of data shows that this system is very profitable, even without my modifications.

The +-200 Ergodic filter, interestingly, doesn't help that much because although there are a lot of losing trades between those levels, the few winning trades cancel out the losing trades. I think more importantly the entrance needs to somehow be earlier, perhaps not at the close of the candle. The exit at the close is fine I think.

However my exit modification, according to my calculations, makes the system massively more profitable. In the attachment is an excel file which will show you the trades where the 13x5 EMA cross would result in a different exit and overall much much much more profit. I attached graphs of each month so you can look at them and see for yourself how that exit works much better.

Another thing I will now analyze is whether or not we should discriminate between buy and sell orders, and perhaps apply more stringent limits to sell orders since a much less percentage of them were winners, which would be expected as GY has been trending up on a monthly time scale for a long time.

In the orginal tlatomi thread, it had stated the H4 is the best time frame.

also, here's a link to someone that had manually found a good way to better thread out the entry signals. http://www.forexfactory.com/showpost...&postcount=467

Forgot to add

They dropped the nonLagMA and switched to using 5 EMA and 9SMA. Looking at crosses for entry and exit.

i just found this tlatomi method today. Sincerely i'm really impressed, the method is so simple to use. The good thing abou it is that i just found it when the nonLagMA was forming. Though my entry was about 7-8pips late but it's nice. I'm hoping for some nice run down on the GBP and hope to exit when the red dot forms.
The only problem i have now is the use of the EA's. After scouting round all the related threads on tlatomi, i found out that some pple use EA's (5 &9) for better entries or exits. I'm not still clear with this part because after plotting the EA's, i saw that it was having some fakeouts. For now i'm sticking with the entries of the yellow nonLagMa on the open of the next candle for confirmation. Please let me know if you have made profits without fakeouts from the EA crossovers.
Kudos to tlatomi....what a KIS System. Hope to run a test with it on other pairs.

What's your fakeout to actual order ratio? I understand the fakeout, but there shouldn't be that many.
