Hello To all the good people! (Not to bad ones )

I am starting this thread for helping out people struggling with backtesting due to following reasons :
- Their PC takes too much time backtesting
- Strategy really takes big number of calculations while backtesting (taking the time up)
- Have very small data available
- PC crashes/Hangs/MT4 crashes while backtesting (happens sometimes due to resource overusage)
- They need to save time to do other related research.


MY WORK:
----------
I will backtest strategy for you for free using my high resource, high speed Server i just bought...
and post the results asap, in the form of Detailed Statement for the required settings !

REQUIREMENTS:
----------------
- 5 Requests/Member (Will be changed/unlimited depending upon Thread response)
- Provide all Indicators, EA's, Settings (Settings Sets preferably)
(NOTE : Settings *.set file is mandatory in case strategy has too many settings to change)
- Zip All above to one file before uploading.
- Provide the Time Frame to Test on.
- Provide the Pair to Test.
- Any other setting he/she wants enabled.
- Any other required details.



REASON:
----------
- Just want to help , as i needed in past, when my 1.5ghz processor always took ages!
- Use my Server nicely to get the mileage off my bucks !

I could be wrong, but this seems like you're trying to get a lot of EAs and systems for free...

Could you perhaps post a sample backtest or maybe post proof that you have good data?

lol.. ronald.. a while back, after posting this..i thought, definitely some1 will post this. Ya people think no one does anythng without a reason..i have a reason as said above. nothing more!

As Regarding Free EA, i dont want anyone to post their Paid EA or commercial stuff for testing. This will assure all my intentions
There are so many free Ea's around with so many settings and variables... which people are trying... This can help them

What about the history data,
Where did you get the data from?
Does it have any mismatched charts errors(based on Report)?
How long is the history data span?


Btw, why can't you accept a simple MA based EAs?
like this graph for example was from a simple MA based EA
back tested from June 2009 with 2% risk and 13% risk, but i have 6 mismatched charts errors

No Optimisation
Balance :10k
Modelled Quality is 25% (EDIT :its the maximum possible in M1 TF)


Further i am also testing a Optimization backtest with StepSize in pips with Step10 and Stop 100 (5 digit broker)..if anything good comes up..will post...but to be frank i dont consider these backestes a dime..as your EA itself is with compilation errors!

HI adamn

i got access to 2 types of data... ! Since this testing is on mt4 i am using the history center data only!
Data range is of 10years...but I wont be suing any more than 1yr to Test an EA (And may be less for huge scalpers) except if its specially required by a poster.

As regarding MA systems, i feel MA's are good for SL's only... though long term trends can be cathed with them.SO that why said so. any way i have edited and removed that statement.


HERE is a backest of 1yr data, Eu, M15, level trading EA, 90%M.Quality with details and WITH no unmatched Errors (just in case)

You settings in thread are incomplete and illogical as i told the reasons before
Further if you are telling about StepSizeinpips step, the only step settings dont mean anything! you have to give start and stop settings also and IMo they only work for optimisation and not default backtesting!
As Detailed in First post....
Kindly paste settings *.set file and other details as asked, if you feel i should do a backtest again.

May be because the lower time frame it is, the less accurate it will be,
afterall the ticks on backtesting are generated randomly instead of using a real ticks data, so scalpers will be getting too many false signals

@ForexSaint: Why did you use time span between 2004 to 2005? it's too old isn't, using 2008~2009 might be better since it's closer with current market

If you read the article a little more closely, you would realize that the history center in metatrader (where the backtester gets its data) does not in fact store tick data. The most granular data it stores is M1 data. Once I discovered that, I moved my backtesting off of Metatrader and into a small program I had written in C# and I just feed that from an SQL database.
Thought this thread will be of more worth!

Is that mean you don't have the EA?

No, I have only the method which I have just written down as a set of rules. There are only a couple of calculations. I trade forex on a browser-based platform on my Mac computer. So, I am unable to run Metatrader.

Well you can use VMware or other PC emulation software to run Windows and MetaTrader if you have a fast hardware

Anyway, w/o the EA forexsaint won't be able to backtest it

Hi traderkid, AdamnN is right..without EA and indi's etc i wont be able to test it.
may be if i had those pogramming skills i may have tried ! but i dont !
May be you can start a Ea Making request Thread with all rules etc and some generous programmer may help you.
