Lines are disappearing

Hi.

I don't know how or why but nowdays when i put som trend lines, fib retracements etc on my chart (MT4) and change timeframe or restarts my MT4 these lines disappear and i need to redraw them.

I think this happened after an update or so but i am not sure.

I use Alpari MT4

I there anyone that knows how to get around this problem?

Disappear from visual area most likely. Find your graphic object in the object list (Ctrl-b) and check its coordinates against new timeframe visibility scope.

I tryed that. I draw a horizontall line at 1 min TF and change the TF tp 5 min. I pressed ctrl+b and the box was blank. Nothing inside it.
Charts->template->save template saves your lines; draw new lines atop template and erase unwanted lines. When you load the template, old lines disappear from the chart, but you'll know why.

Thank you... that worked. Altough i think it is a very lenghty way to do it.... but it works. So thank you.

Try to remove indicators /one by one/ used in your chart. Mostly the graphical ones, cleans the lines when switched to other timeframe.

EDIT: For 80% it is done by some indicator, who is redrawing workspace/chart....
Me thinks you have changed a setting somewhere!!

Try selecting the trendline (double click) then right click on it and select properties.

Go to 'Visualisation' tab.

Make sure there is a tick mark in 'Show on all timeframes'

Some lazy coders will use ObjectsDeleteAll in the deinit routine of their indicators instead of deleting only objects that the indicator created.

If this is the cause of your problem you can find the offending indicator by the process of elimination.

Hey thanks Lou - nearly 5 years on & your advice holds true. Was wondering what "I" had done to my charts. Turns out it is an PP Indi I recently loaded. Deleted now and everything back to normal. Cheers mate.

Thanks Lou, going on a further 2 years... This helped. Ended up removing a trend dashboard which was clearing my charts every time I changed timeframe. Now looking for an alternative...
