Hola Traders,
I am currently testing a strategy based upon the breakout of a set period of time before the London session starts (8am London time)
To test the validity of this strategy I have been visually Backtesting it, (by simply scrolling back into the past to see previous results)
However one thing is confusing me,
I am using a an indicator that "brackets" the candles in question and displays the highs and lows. The indicator is customizable and requires the user to input the required time period, these inputs are based upon the brokers server time.
I am using FXDD and right now (23rd July) their server time appears to be 2 hours ahead of London time, so 8am London time corresponds to 10am FXDD time. This also corresponds to GMT+3 (During the summer months London is GMT+1)
However during winter time daylight savings finishes and London goes back to being synchronized with GMT
My question is this..
Does the FXDD sever time also change with Daylight savings? Or is it always fixed to GMT+3 no matter what time of the year it is?
This is an important issue for me as this will alter the time period for my trades (in relation to FXDD server time)
I.e when I'm backtesting the winter months will I need to adjust my Box to correspond with the correct london opening time? or just leave it be?
Many thanks in advance ,
Jonny
