I have been making consistent profits with my broker every day, sometimes almost 1000 a week. Would the cheeky bastards do something nasty like freeze my account????

its possible ..... I've personally seen the broker etoro freeze the account of a very successful trader when he got to the point of making roughly $180000 a week. They made some lame excuse and froze his account saying some malpractice which wasn't even remotely true.

It would depend on the broker I suppose.

I have an fxcm micro account with nearly 5000 dollars in it and i plan to make it grow and take some profits off the table at the same time. but i can really afford the standard account as the lots are too much.

theyre not too large as of almost a year now, their "standard" is 10K NOT 100K so basically the standard is like their old "MINI" one lot is 10 K = $1 per pip

If you are that successful, i would recommed you open an account either at Oanda or some ECN brokers. FXCM is a true bucketshop and you will most likely not see your money again if you keep going. If you love your money, then run run run as fast as you can away from these bucketshops and trade with an ECN broker.

Don't worry, at this rate you'll blow your account before you can withdraw anything. You have 5k in your account and make consistently profits, sometimes nearly 1k per week? Something doesn't fit here. (no offense btw, just scale down a bit...)

$180k a week and he was trading on a kiddies game with little men running around the screen? With a company based in Cyprus who share the same address as online gaming and casino companies?

Yeah, ok

pipmutt if you're trying to say I'm lying let me tell you I'm not and also let me tell you I've never lied here and let me tell you its not correct to assume someone is lying just because you think so without any proof.

This trader started out with $100 and turned it into $500000 in a little more than 6 months.

etoro has a live weekly trading challenge where the post the competition results in real time from sunday night when the competition starts till friday night when weekly trading closes and the final results are declared.

This is just like the ibfx or any other trading contests except this is weekly instead of monthly and the total dollar value is shown instead of the percentage increase of the week. You can monitor the competition throughout the week

Maybe pimpmutt can post a screenshot of what the competion looks like since he has the etoro software.

Anyway I can't post the results as etoro only has records till december 2008.

Anyway watching his phenomenal success others at etoro started pm'ing him for tips and he made this post about how he does it

http://forum.etoro.com/topic-t693.html

A while later he was raking in 80k a day and when etoro couldnt handle it any longer they froze his account as een from the last post in the above thread.

He started a blog as etoro wouldnt allow him to post and heres his account of what happened

http://www.amatureforex.co.uk/my_blo...=view_comments

Here's an update of how etoro was refusing to compensate him and even refused to let him withdraw his remaining money from his account

http://www.amatureforex.co.uk/my_blo...=view_comments

Here's his l3rd update of what happened

http://www.amatureforex.co.uk/my_blo...=view_comments

Here's his final update

http://www.amatureforex.co.uk/my_blo...=view_comments

So its true brokers do play dirty and I've seen this happen, I'm not saying all brokers but I've only seent his happen with two brokers.

also second thing I've seen those who talk a lot pages after pages of hot air what trading is, what its not , all kinds of advice, blah blah blah aren't really good traders they're just full of it Personally I've found the real traders avoid the limelight and giving out all that blah blah ... they'r busy making money like this guy.

I know another guy $500 to 2million in a year and he has 5 posts!!!

No offense to anyone this is just my observation anyway main thing in regard to this threrad is it is possible the bucketshop broker while try to freeze your account

If one has that kind of talent to turn a measly 100 $ to close to half a million, then is not their fault that they choose to trade with a bloodsucking bucketshop like etoro. I dont get it really.

OMG, let's hope he doesn't trade at etoro as well!

Come on, a guy supposedly making $180k a week and with an alleged $500k in his account is doing business with a company based in Cyprus who limit bet size to 2k and have a ~14-second delay in closing a bet? Doesn't that sound just a little odd to you?

Then, when they freeze his account while RetailFX carry out what they call "inspection......due to a number of reasons" (which incidentally they are perfectly within their rights to do, the same as any other broker), he says "Till now I have got close to 30 percent of my money back and I hope it is not faraway that I would comeback to eToro platform for my trading.", crikey despite everything he's claimed has happened the guy still wants to continue doing business with them!!

Going by what he and the etoro rep posted, and the activity on the account, I don't think anyone can jump to conclusions such as they "play dirty" or "lame excuse and froze his account saying some malpractice which wasn't even remotely true". I don't remember reading anything in the reps post about 'malpractice', he didn't specify the reasons for the inspection, just "due to a number of reasons".

Anyway, I can't see any update in the last 7 months so for all we know everything may have turned out fine.

No-one in their right mind does business with these kinds of places anyway, especially not with substantial amounts of money like this guy is supposed to have had, it's a kiddies video game not a serious trading platform.
