As I wrote in a previous post, unless you have very specific latency requirements (like in options market making and other such exotic things - where you would probably have to look into using FPGA's just to stay competitive anyway) then, to my experience, the computational performance given by your choice of language and platform does not really determine whether you will succeed or not. It's a lot more important to get the job done as quickly as possible...Ignored
And as Craig said, benchmarks are really not that important unless you know exactly what they are measuring (IO especially is usually the elephant in the room).
