Hyper Scalping

This thread is only for traders who hyper scalp.

Hyper scalping is an extreme form of scalping in trading, where a trader executes a high frequency of trades within seconds or milliseconds to capture small price movements. This strategy relies on ultra-fast execution, low latency, and often utilizes algorithms or direct market access (DMA) to exploit tiny inefficiencies in the market.

Let's discuss your methodology, brokers, and all of the above.

Here are my results from today

I take what the market gives me, if price starts to move against me I try to exit immediately. I trade NY Session indices and gold mostly. Trading at this time is very volatile which is how I make my money obviously.

My approach isn't exactly true hyper scalping because I don't have access to level 2, and don't pay for any data feed. Instead, it's a unique approach to extracting quick profitis out of super liquid assets in very quick fashion. I don't wish to argue the semantics of volume and data. This works for me.

Volume profile is the bread and butter of my operations. I also watch the influx of volume live as orders come in. In an ideal world I would use bookmap, but find their pricing rediculous. Instead, I use an indicator called Tape by LucF. I trade futures.

The first thing I look at when I come to a market is the Volume Profile, as it's how I typically set my bias. I use DGTRDs indicator and set the volume profile to a fixed 360 range.

I want to observe how price is interacting with the Volume Profile. For example, is price coming down into a bearish zone, or up into a bearish zone? How liquid are these zones? Has price recently interacted with this zone? These are the questions I ask myself to help understand my bias. Once a bias is established I start to look at the EVEREX indicator, and then the TAPE indicator by LucF.


There's a ton of nuance here, but most of it is common sense. If price is way up at the top of the range, well the volume profile isn't too much of a help because there isn't as much data to reinforce it.

What I typically want to see is price ranging. I don't want to see thinned out liquidity at the top or bottom of a range.

Then we're looking for big zones, blocks, levels, whatever you want to call it. This is clear by observing the VPOF indicator and seeing how much liquidity there is , and which side of the market is lends too. We want to trade off of these zones. We want to short through liquid bearish zones, and buy off bullish liquid zones.

I'm a big proponent of effort vs result. If I see large volume candles, or a heavy influx of orders/volume, but price is barely reacting or not reacting at all, then I take bias in opposite direction. I try to align this bias with the VPOF

Same can be said for candles that move violently but have very little volume relatively ...these events start to prime key opportunities for us to take advantage.

A mentor of mine use to wait for the order book to filll with bids, and buy the ask.

What I'm doing is carving out an edge around imbalance in the market

Here's an example of what a scalp looks like for me

We are in the middle of a range. Plenty of liquidity above us and below us. Price starts to drop, falling through weak zones on the volume profile. Eventually price halts as it approaches a very liquid bullish zone on the VPOF. This is represented by a large blue bar on the rjght, and even compounded further if the bar on the left is orange. The orange represents points of control, or otherwise, very high volume areas within the last 360 bars.

Okay now that price has entered this heavy bullish zone I'm going to start watching the TAPE indicator.

I'm watching the volume come into the market and I'm looking for bearish volume. (Red numbers)

I want to see large numbers, and I want to see many lines in a row. Simultaneously, I want price to barely move, or even better move up. This confirms my bias, letting me know, bulls have mainted SOME semblance of control at this bullish zone, during this short down trend.

Now I spotted an imbalance. Tons of shorts hit the book, bearish volume gas increased, but buyers absorbed and price will ricochet. How much you ask? No idea, I don't stick around long enough to find out. The second I turn profit I typically exit.

If you time it right, and you're trading at the most volatile time, the moment you enter you, momentum should have cleared your spread/costs and netted you some profit. If price doesn't move, or starts to go against you, YOU MUST EXIT.

This is the hardest part about this approach. Traders will try to hold. You will fail. This is hyper scalping.

Tools like Bookmap, and Sierra charts can do this a bit better. But why cut into your profit, this method works and I have made considerable profit doing so.

The downside is it's exhausting. That's why from time to time I enjoy learning other systems, it's fun.

This requires heavy screen time and absolutely emotional control. It's tiring but rewarding. These moments pop up all day but you have to be at your computer to take advantage. That's our edge.

Robots can't do this. You need to feel the market. You need to monitor the speed, you have to feel and see the movement of the candlestick in relation to the volume, you need to exit quick but not too quick, hold but not too long.

There's no algorithmic code you could apply to do this.

Ride the wave. Sat and physically stared at the orders coming in until I see 5x average volume on the tape. Look too see how price reacts and ride the wave.

NAS just had an epic battle between the bears bulls ...

The bears sent MASSIVE orders into the market and bulls were able to hold not letting price drop at all. Price sat at the same level for awhile, I was just waiting and watching for 5+ minutes. I had a bullish bias, and was just waiting for bullish spike...right at about 300 on the tape, I hopped in for some easy scalps.
