For daytrading what would be a good timeframe to use - 5min,1 hr etc?

Yea.... you kind have got to use most of them. It's about figuring out where the market is most likley to go and then getting in early in the move. There really is no simple answer to your question. The time frames are all interrelated. Just spend as much time reading around FF and all of a sudden lights will come on for you.
