Frosty's '$2,000 to $60,000 in 12 Months' Challenge. Care to follow along?

Here are the spread levels I'm looking to find settings for:

200 pips
250 pips
300 pips
450 pips
600 pips

I'm looking to balance the reward:risk ratio along with the Max Down Draw and profit. Take a look at this setting:

I've posted it elsewhere, but so far I use 50/20 1.5x 10 levels with 0.02 starting lots 250 pip stoploss. So far for about every thousand I have found adding on .01 lots keeps the drawdown between 10-15% on one to two stoploss hits. I'm not using your spreadsheet though was just testing it out live and whatnot so it probarly isn't the best haha.

edit: fixed stoploss number... haha

OK, here it is, Bastard v05. Auto Magic Number, auto settings (with Auto set to true). If it's set to false, OR if it doesn't recognize the pair, it defaults the settings and magic number to what you have in the settings.

Please don't run this live just yet, test it out first.

Fixed bastard to work on micro and mini accounts (since I use IBFX, this was important). I've been testing on Alpari and they don't use an 'm' for their mini's.
I've already modified the auto magic number in v06 (coming many weeks from now) to multiply by the current second which helps give a semi-random number. However, if two of the same currency pairs are running the same direction, and activated at the same time, they will have the same magic number. Not a big deal for me since I don't run more than 1 copy of a pair in the same direction, but maybe for someone else. I think I'll toss in the lot size too, that way, as long as the lot size is different, it will run the pairs. I'm kind of rambling here, but it doesn't do any harm, its just a waste of CPU time if you run multiple copies of the same pair with the auto ea.

Let me know what else you would like to see.
OK, Bastardv05 is up (hoorah!) and here is the new Settings Finder all jazzed up along with a new calculation to find Down Draw at StopLoss (Thanks to NanningBob for this suggestion!)

And even though it has the same version name, this version of Bastardv05 adds the MagicNumber to the comment tag line on screen, letting you easily see what it is (not a major change at all).

After the major losses a few weeks ago, I'm slowly but surely gaining and growing. My account went up 59% this week; granted that's from the low starting point of $461, but that's still a really good return. I'm running strictly Bastardv05 because for me, my account is not just a live account, it's my laboratory. Congratulations on your results!
I'm off to sleep, was running a -$90 DD so I closed with a $186.61 profit for the week. I would have liked to watch the retrace (that I see coming) but I need my rest and as I've stated before:

RULE 1 of ForEx:
Any Profit is better than any loss.


So yes, I could have waited it out and maybe banked another $100 or so, but screw it, I've made my money for the week and I'm happy with it.

2k two weeks ago... where do you get the small loss from? The -11 is because it was a picture of my live account and it has orders open.

You've got the right mindset. Just remember, you don't have to be the world's craziest return rate, but as long as you're one of the most consistent and safe, you're golden. Keep up the good work mate.

Small loss on the CHFJPY. It went about 50 pips outside of the settings on the EA and I decided not to wait for a retrace. It's Friday and I was looking for an exit so I took the small loss and got out with a decent profit for the week.
ill be following this thread with a keen eye... my goal is to get $10,000 and split it into 5 different accounts and run 5 of bob's ea's on them, spread the risk a bit...

yeh well i managed to get through Phillip Nel's 4hr system thread so illl be able to knock the holy grail thread in no time, literally that was the most painful thing ever reading his, great insight/system, but wow ridiculously long.

Looks like the EURJPY is about to blow my account. I should not be running the 100x80 on a $500 account anyway, it can't cover it.
OK, looks like IBFX closed all of my EURJPY trades after my margin dropped down to around $80. That's life. I'll be sure to stay away from the 100x80 on this small account. Great testing data however.

geez thats no good, im thinking bout running $1000 - $1500 account for 100x80 EA for penny lot (0.01) intially... i think ill try the audnzd one first with 500, it seems to have very little drawdown...

how many ea's/strategies u aim to run eventually frost?

Before this morning, I had about 9 pairs going on a $600 account. 1 pair hit the StopLoss (the CHFJPY) and that took me down to about $300. After that, I was already waiting for a retrace on the EURJPY and the EA had plenty of time to get it, but my account was too low to wait for the retrace, so it blew up my account. My problem was that I was underfunded for the 100x80 on that account. Idealy, you should be to the point were if 1 of your pairs hits the stoploss, it's less than 5% of your account, 10% max. I was sitting at over 50%. That's not very good. Realistically, most of us will should be running things no greater than 25%

You can use my Settings Finder tool to see what the loss looks like at the Stop Loss. Please remember, I'm on the far edge of things with my testing. That's why I tell you to try my stuff out before going live. I honestly feel like the Bastardv05 is a solid EA, but it needs to be run on a larger account if you plan on running as many pairs as I did. I think in Bastardv06, I will have it auto-detect your account balance, and refuse to let you run the big pairs if your account is low (if set to Auto, you can always override). This will help keep people from blowing their accounts.

Running the 100x80 on a small account like I was doing is not giving the EA the time and space it needs to work. It's like setting the max levels to 5. That's not a smart idea because you don't let the EA hit all of its levels.

Basically, I will continue this (now smaller) account with the 50x15's, and I will fund a larger account with a few grand and start again with the larger currencies. I was doing very well before but I failed to have any stoplosses in place for when the market went crazy last month, I won't make that mistake again.

This system works, it just takes a little bit of money to cover yourself.
If you are referring to the 50x15, or the 35x15 (same settings except for the take profit), then the Stoploss DD is -252.8 in pips. On the EURUSD, that's almost exactly $252.80, but it varies a little depending on what pair you are on. I would recommend using at least $1,000 with it, running both ways.

I have my EA setup so that a stoploss hit is 6% of my account. It is unbelievably how little stress it puts on me when I can just close out a 6-7 level deep trade without a blink or even just leaving computer knowing the worst that can happen is a 6% loss. When the EA pulls in 5%+ a day I'm not all that worried about the rare stoploss hit.
