Hi

Has anyone coded the composite indicator - the one created by Constance Brown. I can supply the formula if required - it is now public domain.

Here is the code in Metastock format - itīs all I know:

CI = rsi(14) - ref(rsi(14),-9) + mov(rsi(3),3,s);
plot1 = mov(a,13,s);
plot2 = mov(a,33,s);

a;plot1;plot2

I hope itīs self explanatory - the MA is a simple moving average.
Need to be able to display a few levels also - namely 0 and 100.

Why do people only post a nice trending period chart?

is that correct? It seemed not to be, so I edited it to try and match the metastock exactly. Nothing major, but the readings are slightly different.

I will remove this if you ask.

Tried indicator - doesnīt display the actual composite - īaī in the code. But the MAs look correct.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for posting this. Can you clarify the formula?

CI = rsi(14) - ref(rsi(14),-9) + mov(rsi(3),3,s);

rsi(14) looks pretty clear
-- 14 day RSI.

and mov(rsi(3),3,s) also looks pretty clear
-- 3 day simple moving average of 3 day RSI.

But what is the ref function? Can someone clarify?

Hi

Ref is a lookback - so Ref(c,-2) is the close two bars ago.
